Default Lawn Irrigation.

Not sure this is right forum, but here goes. Are we supposed to continue watering the plants and lawn during these cold spells or should we discontinue watering for two months during Jan. and Feb.? More specifically, should we turn off the auto lawn sprinkling system for a certain period of time?

Here's a link on water usage (you may have to copy/paste the link since some links to villages sites don't work from TOTV).

Scroll down and on the left side you'll see a link for "recommended irrigation zone run times" that describes how you should adjust for different seasons. Bascially, you need to run your system all year, but, use less in winter.

The current freezing spell is another matter. I turned my system off for this week as I didn't think it was recommended to water at 4am when the temps are below freezing. I'll turn it back on when things warm up.
