Sorry for your woes...thanks for the warning to all those considering landscaping. I highly recommend Mansfield landscaping for any future jobs.

I also highly recommend Mansfield Landscaping! He's been around for a long! You can see his work and talk to his clients.
Steve Mansfield is an honest man who won't take your money unless you are completely satisfied. You pay him after the work is done!

We used Native Cuts too and had serious issues with them, especially with communcations. Their "office manager" is a piece of work. Constant lies and memory failures on her part. I couldn't get her to answer my calls or return messages. In order to get her to pick up the phone I had to use *67 to block my number from their caller I.D.
I finally had to resort to filing a complaint with Seniors vs Crime in order to get a refund of money they owed me and even then they stalled. Native Cuts is well known by the staff at Seniors vs Crime. Beware

Thanks for the warning. I was going to call them for a quote but your warning about them has changed my mind. It's been my experience, that a legitimate business doesn't require "up front" payment for services rendered. And the warranty terms sounds to me like the company is a world class scam.

Yes, "up front" payment that is also noted as "non-refundable" I just wasn't smart enough to see the warning signs. Neighbors have had good experiances with both McGowan and Mansfield Landscaping.

I'm sorry you all had issues with Native Cuts. I can only say that my husband and I spent alot of money with them, have an absolutely beautiful landscape front and back.
Earl was always there checking and making us happy, he even added shrubs to the plan without additional cost etc. Yes sometimes it takes more than one call to get through to the office, but I can say any issues or concerns were addressed immediately once known. They not only power washed my house and the sides of my neighbors houses when they were done, but they also did the street too! It's hard to believe we are speaking of the same company. |

We just had a major landscape job done by Mansfield Landscape co and they did a great job, nice large healthy plants, and you do not pay anything until you are happy with the job. I, too, recommend Mansfield. They go out of their way and the crew is wonderful. |

I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience with our company. It is our goal to provide a beautiful product, original in design and a delight to the homeowner. Although we strive to ensure each customer is satisfied, unfortunately, that cannot always happen. Our policy is to never advertise or request a job, we work off of referral only. We rely on our reputation, past performance and current referrals to grow our company. Knowing this we go out of our way to work with each customer and exhaust all measures to meet their approval. We treat our customers with the utmost respect and enjoy the reciprocity of that respect. Whenever an issue is brought to our attention, we respond immediately. We absolutely do stand behind our work and our word. That is why we are so blessed with a thriving business and many wonderful homeowners.
I have saved the email you are referring to, as well as every other one we have shared. If you remember the cursing in that email was me quoting you as an example of what was not an acceptable way to communicate with me. While you were a customer, we did everything we could to make you happy. Your landscaping is absolutely beautiful to this day and there was nothing left undone. The only reason you are no longer a customer is because I could not tolerate the way you spoke to me and my crews. The last straw was yet another public beratement of my men. It is not my men that brought this to my attention, rather a neighbor of yours whom was embarrassed just having to witness this behavior once again from you. I want to set the record straight that you did not fire us. The reason we no longer work together is because of the very mean, hurtful, disrespectful and racist ways in which you chose to communicate with us is unacceptable and not conducive to a sound working relationship. You chose severing ties over treating us with the same respect we treat you. We are mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers just like everyone else. It is not unreasonable that we would be treated with a certain level of civility and respect. How I was treated by you, I am sure you would not stand for your wife or sister to be treated that way. How you spoke to my men and my son you would not stand to be talked to like that. Earl is a genius designer and has been doing business in The Villages for a very long time. We have been assured that how we were treated by you had nothing to do with us, rather had been witnessed before by your neighbors. Which by the way, are still our customers. As for stains on the roadway, well that is just silly and a mean after thought. Our trucks are maintained well, as any investment should be. Any sign of a leak would have been treated immediately and the area cleaned well. When we leave a jobsite we ensure that the roadway is clean of any debris and routinely power wash the road. When any stain is present (old or new) we use a very powerful chemical. The only time that we cannot remove the stain if it is old and very well set in. If the stain was from our trucks, then it would not have been able to set in, proving that it was a preexisting stain. This makes absolute sense if you think about how many both work and private vehicles use the streets in The Villages. |

First of all with this being your first post as a business owner partner wife what ever you should have the sense to introduce yourself to this forum, stating you name and affiliation with the company involved etc.
Another thing you should have done is sign the post with your name you know the way most businesses do.. All you do is ramble on how the customer was wrong that is not the way retail operates. It operates under the old adage that the customer is always right. You are lacking in respecting the folks that put bread on your table, not once did you make mention of resolving any issues instead you complain about how someone cursed at some men...they heard it before, that is a poor excuse for not satisfying the customer. We spoke once and I have to tell you guys have very poor customer relation skills, I would not consider you for my work. Sorry but I felt that needed to be said and hope you learn something about the way people want to be treated by people they employ. Quote:

Maybe getting a lot more business changes things. That is sad. All who read this be very careful of landscapers. VERY careful. I think that the prices are going WAY up because of opportunity. If you are just moving in take your sweet time and talk to others and really do your due diligence. There is no rush. I think this forum is a HUGE help. Ask on here first and you will get a lot of feedback usually.
