Yes,it is a lorapetalum, a sickly one, could be the results of spider mites. Needs to be treated with a soapy water/miticide solution or you will lose it.JMHO

Thank you all for the responses and suggestions. I really appreciate it. I did some trimming a little over a month ago, as they got way too high and were blocking a window. Hopefully with some TLC they will bounce back.

They'll bounce back once our growing season returns. They grow quickly, best to trim them back lower than what you want the final height to be the first go around. They will thicken up the more you trim them during the growing season, if you don't let them go too long between trimmings. You can also just cut back the wild runners occasionally so they look more uniform between trimmings in the growing season.

I did in fact cut them really low, and would like them even lower. I'm not sure they were a wise choice to be planted in front of windows. I might try cutting them even more, unless you think it's too soon. Thank you so much for your input.

I agree. It looks like our lorapetalum. Occasionally gets tiny pink flowers on it.
