Default Replacing sod???

We have been gone since May and when we got back, shocked to find the front lawn looking like a disaster. I was told previously by our lawn fertilizer/bug man that it was fungus and they were treating it. Well I am ashamed of what I have just found.

Do you have a reputable sod replacer you would recommend?
My big concern is I understand that it truly was fungus that the new sod will pick it up from where the previous sod was.

So I am confused about what to do. We use Once-a-year and I am not very happy with them as there was no indication on their monthly sheets or any contact to say...hey your lawn is dead because or ya better do something because.........

As I said in a previous post I am ready to rock mulch the front yard!!!!

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I got a product with a hose end sprayer at Home Depot and treated my lawn. It took a long time for the fungus to go away, but it did. Then I found out that fungus can be transported on the lawnmower being used to cut your grass. I bought a lawnmower and it only cuts my grass.

A few months ago, my lawn was a disaster - totally destroyed by fungus. I called 1800PestControl and signed up for their service. I can't believe how lush and beautiful my lawn looks after only a few treatments. I'd try them, their outside service is wonderful (so is the inside but I'm especially impressed with my lawn).

If you still want to replace the sod, I do have a very good company for that. BP Mulch & More (not to be confused with the oil company, LOL)
They advertise in the Daily Sun. 352 636 1908. Mention TOTV - I've been trying to get them to advertise here. They specialize in Re-sodding.
Good luck, BTK.

Just how do you tell if it is truly a fungus or chinch bugs. I have
looked in all the local stores and did not find a product that was made
for fungus in lawns.

Default Lawn Care

I have been with Once a Year for about four months now and I would not recommend them.

I had Once-A-Year a few years ago and they killed parts of my lawn by using the wrong chemicals or too much of them. Then fungus took other parts. Even though they say they "guarantee" and will replace the dead parts, they tried to blame it on me and would not honor the contract. I immediately canceled them and went with another company. The lawn looks great now! Be leary of Once-A-Year.

I've been using FertiGator for about two years now to treat my lawn and plants and they are very good. Any problem, I call and they are here right away. Always leave a sheet in the door telling me what they did. Would highly recommend them.

No matter what happens to your lawn, the company taking care of it finds some way to claim it's not their fault. I have never seen such a bunch of crooks. When I get there full time, my very first phone call will be to fire my lawn service. Cinch bugs, fungus, frost damage, lawn care, no matter what happens, I did something wrong. They never do anything wrong. And it is every company out there. Not a single one of them take ownership of the problems and solve them.

I dropped Once A Year - kept telling me I had a fungus when I was digging up the chinch bugs (I know what they look like) and they wouldn't listen to me. They even told me that any professional would tell me it's a fungus - they just sprayed for fungus and wouldn't treat for chinch bugs. I called someone else and sure enough I was loaded with chinch bugs. I now have PTL and am satisfied so far. My lawn looks great.
