They'll be here Tuesday for an estimate.

Interesting you should ask. We had set up a date for them to install and were waiting for a revised estimate. Appointment to finalize and sign contract was cancelled by them two weeks ago because Megan was ill. Never heard back. Follow-up call by husband told him she was still ill but our date was reserved so there wouldn't be a problem with the delay. Had an appt. today for final approval and deposit. Again they called this morning to cancel. Not only that, but we lost the install date so it couldn't be done until after our Thanksgiving guests have left. Back to square one to find someone more reliable.

We used them and would recommend. The designer listened to my preferences and came up with a very nice plan. Don't know if they are more or less expensive than others because I did not shop around because I wanted a brick and mortar established business. Our landscaping has been in for a year and is doing well. I did replace 3 drift roses as they didn't do well. My other knockout roses are fine. It was no big deal to me to replace the drift roses as they are not that expensive. Good Luck!

I had a similar problem with scheduling. Megan came and look at the area and we were to have a follow-up at their place. Went there and after waiting awhile was told she had an emergency and couldn't make it. Ok, it happens. Rescheduled for next day but I mentioned since I'm familiar with plants she could email me the plan. Next day a couple of hours before appt. Megan called and said she'd email me the proposal. Said fine. All I got was the price....nothing else. Emailed her and asked for the proposed plan and was told have to come to their place to see. So I asked why didn't she just let me keep the appt. then? She apologized and offered a small discount but I'd had enough. If they just would have explained whatever was going on, I'm very flexible, but if I couldn't even get them to keep appts. I had to wonder what to expect when they actually would do the job. Too bad because I would have liked to see the proposal.

My on experience is the two times I personally went to their nursery on 301. Couldn't get help either time so I left.

I used Terrascape in August of 2011. We had just purchased a CYV new and I wanted the pine straw removed, weed block put down, have the Holly Tree moved to the back yard and replaced with a Windmill Palm and then everything covered with copper rock. That was for the front and back, he gave me and my neighbor an estimate of $2700. My neighbor got 4 more estimates and maybe saved a couple of hundred. I told him he could start right now if he would take $2500. He said yes, if I paid him in cash when he was done.

I then went over to his nursery on 301 and met a lady and picked out the palm tree. His crew started about two days later. One thing I liked was they didn't dump the rocks on the street, they shoveled from their trailer straight into their wheel barrels. The two guys knocked it out in a full day and it looked good but nothing fancy.

Earlier this year I wanted my front yard totally redone with some bigger palm trees, retaining walls and plantings, all the grass removed and new irrigation. I called McGowan, who came by a few days later and she took notes and then emailed me an estimate a few days later. They were so booked that I then had to wait three weeks for them to do the job.

When Terracape was finished it looked like this, basically much like the original layout but with rocks and a small palm tree. The second photo is how it looked after McGowan was finished.

John,

Very nice landscaping!

I pretty sure I've seen a lot of good comments on this company. You might want to do a search on previous threads to get more information.

I started a thread about TerraScape nearly a year ago that includes a few pictures taken shortly after the landscaping was done. Here is the link to that thread:

Sorry you had appt. trouble. The staff must have a changed since we used them in Sept. 2012. We had a different designer than Megan. Sorry I can't remember her name but she did a really nice drawing for us to show us how it would look and where the plants would go etc. We put 10% down and paid the rest upon completion and our satisfaction. We did have a slight delay in starting work but it was due to rain. They always kept appts. and the crew was here nice and early for 4 days straight and our designer was out on the day the plants went in and when the job was completed. They cleaned up the area including the street. We had curbing put in around our entire designer home and rocks in the beds, raised planting beds in the front and an island planting bed in the side yard. Had an issue with curbing not being straight in the back of the house in small area. They came back out the next day and fixed it with no hassle. They also put in new irrigation heads in the front beds and installed new irrigation in the island. They dug 2 channels out to the lawn under the landscaping to carry the downspout water away from the planting beds and driveway. Hubby and I were very satisfied with the project. We got what we wanted at what we believe was a fair price. Sorry other folks had problems.

After they first opened we had them come out to do an estimate on some landscaping in our front yard, fairly small area. While we did want some flagstone which I know can be pricey, They quoted over 4K for what we wanted which wasn't all that much. I had sticker shock and never called them back. Since then had a similar design done this year for $1200!

Default Update

Just had our 2nd meeting with Megan, she is so cool. The plans she
came up with suit us to a "T".

Tomorrow we sign the contract. Their prices are very reasonable.

Thanks, Megan.
