Default What is an easy to grw ground cover?

Thanks to the people of this forum, I have forever roses planted and are doing well.

Next, I need to plant some ground cover in the area between the sidewalk and bay (?) window in the front of the house. The house is white and faces west, so it gets lots of afternoon sun.

I would like to plant something that doesn't grow over 12 inches tall, just tall enough to cover the foundation. Something casual-nothing I have to shape.

Also, would like to plant a few pink flowers in the same area and any suggestions would be appreciated. I have studied the internet and looked at the plantings around TV, but still have no answers.

Default ground cover

Probably Lantana or creeping fig....We have a golfer topiary that is covered with creeping fig...Originally we had ivy, but frost got it, creeping fig seems to be pretty hardy during our winter freeze.

I'm not there yet, but have been doing a lot of research for my own future TV home.
Take a look online at a plant called: Sedum Hybrid 'Florida Friendly Gold'.
It has a lot of good features, but can't be walked on.

I love the way creeping fig looks (creeping wire vine looks pretty too) but my research tells me that both can spread aggressively underground to over 14x14 feet if they're happy in the location. That may be more maintenance than you want to apply.

Keep us posted as to what you choose, I'd love to know!
Here's to a happy adventure!

Default Duh!

I'm sorry, I should have asked you how big the area is that you want to cover!
It may well BE 14 x14 feet.... that would make a difference in what to choose!

Try looking at the various 'Riverview Florida Friendly Plant Selections. (online)
They have some neat ideas. Some varieties are available in a "saus-edge" form... easy way to get fast coverage.
