Default Celing Fans

Greetings:
I recently purchased 2 ceiling fans (DREO Smart Ceiling Fans with Lights, 42 Inch), they are smart as they work with Amazon A which runs through the house. The house I purchased was the Raleigh model in the Edenfield area.

My question is as I am a DIY person, are the electrical "boxes" in the ceiling rated for ceiling fans or do I have to replace those?

Thanks

Do you have 2 switches on the wall, where one doesn't seem to do anything? Is there a red wire inside the ceiling box? Is the ceiling box metal? Is the ceiling box screwed into a ceiling joist (look for screws inside the box)? If the answer to all of these questions is yes, then you have a box that is rated for a ceiling fan.

If you contact the county building department you should be able to get a full set of the house plans, one of these is the electrical, and my set indicates which boxes are for ceiling fans. I do agree with the previous comments, but I will note that on some boxes the mounting flanges are not visible from inside the box.
