Try TriCounty Orthopaedic Center on rte 466 just before Rolling Acres Rd. 352 753 9105. From the office staff, Dr. Tankson Leesburg Memorial Hospital and physical theraphy, was a good experience. TriCounty was recommended to us by our realtor when my husband tore his Achilles tendon shortly after we moved here earlier this is year. He is up playing golf again! Life is good!

Another vote for Tri County. There are great.
However, when I feel through an attic one time & smashed my foot, Dr. Tankson said it was so bad I should go to Dr. Dean Cole. He's the head of the Fracture Care Center at Florida Hospital. He is the Orthopaedic God ! Just google his name.

I've just made an appt to see Dr. Duke next week for a follow up to an injury received the first of the year in WV. He came highly recommended by another Villager and his office says he takes Aetna. Don't know about medicare advantage.

Reagarding Dr Duke..I would be suprised if you see Dr Duke himself the first visit. You most likely will see his PA...who is good but its not Dr Duke. If after seeing the PA you are ready for surgery, Duke will meet with you in his office. Just be forewarned!! My story gets better!

I have one rub with DR Duke...I had miniscus surgery and well lets just say this one turned out different than one I had on the other knee up north. After 2-3 post visits seeing the PA each time I asked to see Dr Duke. IN close to one year of followups..you know I never again saw Duke even though the office staff specifically stated in my appointment that I was to see him.

In my opinion, Dr Duke is primarily focused on knee replacement and only knee replacement. I was very disappointed when I never saw him for some followup where I did not think everything was going as I thought it should be. I know every surgery is different and I may had had more arthritisis (sp) in this knee than in my other other knee...all I know my pickelball days ended with this surgery...and I never saw Duke!!!!

I would be curious to hear how it works out for you. Best of luck!

Wow. That's a shame. Shame on him, that is. If the named partner is the doc you made an appointment to see, by jinkies that doc should see you regardless of PA, NP, etc. If I am having surgery and you are NOT seeing me in the office, how am I to think/trust that that YOU will be the opening and closing doc when I am on that table? TRUST. It is a huge yet fading commodity. On the day of your surgery it is prudent to state "YOU are the doctor operating, correct? There will be no residents or students doing YOUR work, right?" and have someone else hear that. Just sayin'. Sorry you had that experience. Some docs become indignant if you ask ??'s. THAT makes me ask more. informed consent.

Just to clairfy, once the diagonsis is you need surgery...and you agree to it, Dr Duke will then see you the next visit to confirm the diagonsis and go over the procedure. Dr Duke will also see you at he hospital just before the operation and speak to someone who is waiting for you after the procedure . It was the post op care by Dr Duke that was not up to standard for my particular situation. Again this was for a miniscus procedure..not a knee replacement which I understand he does take a more hands on approach.
