I cut the end of my thumb off with a potato slicer & bleeded like heck. Went to urgent care a crossed the parking lot from Leesburg hospital. They got it to stop bleeding after making a mess on their floor. I would go there in a heart beat, they were very caring! Silver Nitrate stopped the bleeding instantly but burned like they put a red hot iron on it, but only hurt for a few sec. Just don’t trust a lot of health clinics in TV, sorry!

Firstly a PA is a physician assistant. This person did a 4 year college program in any field then a two year PA training program. So 2 years of medical training in total.

APRN is Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. This requires a master's degree in nursing. Most commonly the person got an undergrad degree in nursing but that is not required. The undergrad degree can be in any field but to get the master's degree will then require a few extra science courses. The master's degree is 2 years for most programs. There is also a requirement for clinical experience. Some fields are more intense such as nurse anesthetists.

Compare that training with MD training. Undergrad in any field then 4 years of medical school with about half those 4 years spent in hospital or clinical training. Then at least 3 years of intensive hospital and outpatient training before going into practice. Some fields require much more. Child psychiatry is a five year residency after 4 years of medical school. 9 years post college. That psychiatric NP who "does the same job" , 2 years and I believe 500 clinical hours which is 3 months.

And coming soon, many NP programs are changing the degree being awarded from a Master's degree to a doctorate. So these graduates will now have a doctorate in nursing, no additional work, just a different name for the degree. And when they get introduced to you as a Dr. Jones it will be true but the doctorate will not be in medicine. The time is near when you will need to ask directly whether your doctor is a medical doctor or some other doctorate. If you don't care, that is fine but I can tell you the amount of training difference between that received by an MD and a doctor of nursing is huge. YMMV

I have had a couple of bad experiences with health care here. If it's something I am really concerned with I go to Orlando or Shands in Gainsville.

Adam started the business and made a grave mistake in taking his brother on as a partner and now attorneys are dividing up the business.
Adam S*antos is a caring P.A and runs the 441 urgent care on 466a across the street from McDonald by Lake imaging.
I have been in Adams care before and he is a caring gentleman and i would see him again.
Just a recommendation i would stay away from 441 urgent care on 44 John S*antos runs that one and go to the 441 Urgent care on 466a that Adam S*antos runs.

Forty-five years ago I worked I worked in Africa with a surgeon who accidentally killed three people during the few months I worked with him, twice by sewing peoples’ intestines into their abdominal incision! I did a search last month and discovered that he is 90, in Florida, wealthy, still practicing, and according to the DEA holds the U.S. record for largest number of opioids Purchased for resale to patients: 1,969,000 pills! At least he can’t write narcotics prescriptions anymore.

Keep your head down. I presume you are not a doctor giveing your opinion on medical care. This kind of language you use will possibly be read by thousands if not tens of thousands of Village people. Your opinion could possibly hurt his livelyhood and status in this area. It potentially borders on SLANDER LAW suits are abundant and you DO NOT want that mess. Please be careful.

That’s to Bad..Nine years ago I was treated by ADAM SANTOS & found him to be very Professional & Caring..Still to this day if my primary Dr. can’t treat me, I search for ADAM SANTOS ..as I find him to be very caring considerate & professional..He gets right to the diagnosis..Don’t give up on 441 URGENT CARE.Just ask to see ADAM SANTOS !

He is stating what happened to him...that is not slander. If he received poor or improper care WE all need to be aware. Also a PA can not be your primary care provider, they must work with an MD.

I am a nurse, lived here for 10 years - I have seen so many “pop up” urgent cares and providers it’s scary...you need to do your homework, ask for friends referrals or from your insurance provider. There are many competent providers, you do not have to travel an hour. I have a fabulous PCP here in Lady Lake and if I can’t see him I go to LRUC in Lake Sumter Landing.

I’d love to have some suggestions for a GOOD primary care physician..my husband really needs to find one. We recently had a bad experience with his current dr that could have had a very bad outcome. Thankfully Ocala Health ER tested, diagnosed & transported my husband to West Marion where he had 2 surgical procedures.
Needless to again say, we need recommendations for GOOD Doctors. Thanks in advance

Medicare & Medicaid maintain a list of practitioners not eligible to submit claims for service. You can find it at Search the Exclusions Database | Office of Inspector General I ran a search for John Santos, Adam Santos, Santos Urgent Care and 441 Urgent Care LLC and none of them came up.

I've used this clinic for years and been happy with the service. But before I go again I will call them to verify whether they take Medicare and my secondary provider.

I used Dr. Karina, at UNOVA for 2 surgeries last year and found him to have an excellent chair-side manner. He took the time to explain in detail what he found in my knees and showed me the issues on the x-rays. The surgeries (both knees, different procedures) went great and I was up and playing sports in not time flat. Additionally, his PA, Martha, was also excellent.
