After comparison shopping, I settled on DRUGMARTDIRECT (Phone 855-402-2022) and found them to have the best possible prices. I did not include PHARMSTORE (800-281-8347) as a comparison. Just checked and I believe they are the same organization. Phone numbers and brands are different, but the greeting messages are almost identical. The big differentiator seems to be that Pharmstore advertises free shipping. However, it looks like they add the shipping charges to the price so they can claim free shipping. Here is the comparison:

Sample pricing for 180 tabs of 5mg Apixaban, the generic form of Eliquis:

I use them and call them directly in Winnipeg Canada. They are great and my medication was so much cheaper than here.

Despite being very expensive it is good. I don't think you have a right to even make this decision. My doctor said this is what you take or kiss your family goodby. Doesn't your friend have any insurance? Don't tell me it's to expensive. Assuming your friend is on medicare ins is free. fREE. I pay 125 for 90 days till out of donut hole then it's 345. I pay maybe 1000 a year...

Just an added consideration. My wife needs an inhaler which is not in Humana's formulary so we had to jump through hoops to get it approved. When we did and I went to order it through the Humana mail order pharmacy, it was $212 for 4 inhalers(3 months). I got a new written prescription (doctor inadvertently wrote it for 3 inhalers) and went to local CVS with my GoodRx card. They actually ran it through the Humana plan for under $80. Have done this twice. Go figure.

Shop it more than you think would be my suggestion.

If this was directed to me, my step son is a working stiff, and does not qualify for medicare (too young), yes he has insurance, and the plan he could afford has a $9000 deductible (medical and/or drugs), so he has to pay FULL price until $9000 is spent, hence we are looking for alternatives.

I think you are comparing apples and oranges. Buying a drug from Canada doesn't mean you are getting a different drug. You are getting the same drug for a lower price because of the ridiculous U.S. pricing policies.

Hospital can give you a voucher for the first 30 days and then the doctor gets approval & it’s covered ... that’s how it worked for me ...
