I like that it sounds like most places let you try before you buy.
Do some checking. In Indiana and other surrounding States the Hearing Aids are free from Uncle Sam. As long as you are still employed and hearing is required to do your job efficiently ( DUH ) The hearing Aids are free. I believe it is part of Americans with Disabilities Act. In the last 5 years I have 3 pairs that they supplied me. All you need is a note from Nurse that you did miserable on hearing test. I wear them sparingly as I have selective hearing. I dislike all 3 pairs although they do help.

Default Hearing Aid

Look for "Zounds" in a local mall near you. Appox $1500 per ear with a rechargeable battery. Have a pretty good return policy (30 day trial). My 83 year old father has had one for a year and it works great. We purchased it in Pa., but saw it first in the Orlando Mall.

Default Hearing Aids

Hello, I see this post is a little old, but if you haven't got your aids yet, I recommend, Digital Hearing Systems in the Colony plaza. See John Hayden.
No. 352-259-8824 or Leesburg office, 352-315-9960.
I recently brokedown and owned up to fact I couln't hear. I visted these guys, and they were great. I got the Zons brand. John will work with you during your testing phase and make any and all changes needed. They were not pushy sales people at all. I can't believe I went years without these aids. It has changed my life 100%. I still can't hear my wife sometimes. Selective I believe. HA!HA!. Seriously, It was the best thing I ever did for myself and my wifew. I can now go out in public and understand the conversations around me. .Go see these guys, They are great.

I'm on my third set of hearing aids and can recommend above all others the Destiny by Starkey. They are very expensive, but the only ones that I could use in noisy restaurants and still have near normal hearing.
