Dinh at Optimotion. Surgery is done in Orlando. If you request it, all post-op checkups can be done locally. Optimotion has an office on 44E between Buena Vista and Morse. Recovery for me was 6 weeks on each knee, done 3 months apart. I was in otherwise good physical shape at the time of surgery. The incision is lateral. Nobody else does that. The advantage is that there is no incision through the quadriceps. Walking the same day (with a walker). They insist on using a walker for the initial few days because the internal anesthetic reduces nerve signals that you normally use for balance.

The most important thing is doing the full rehabilitation daily post surgery.

I’ve had both knees done 10+ years ago with Stryker Mako partial replacements and I highly recommend at least talking to a surgeon that does Makoplasty robotic-assisted surgery. I see Dr. Derrick Farr at Twin Palms Orthopedics in Ocala. A person is a candidate if they have 1 or 2 knee compartment issues any more, they do a full knee.

I still have about 80% of the bone in my knees as well as all the ligaments giving me a more natural fee keep all the flexibility and range of motion I had before surgery. They also did my 2nd knee without full anesthesia. I was given proposal and a spinal block…

Janie - I have read about that but been curious; doesn't leaving some of the components allow for future injuries to those ligaments or arthritis developing in some of the bones remaining if it was not a total knee replacement?

Dr. Stephen Nguyen. Lateral approach.(side incision). Less bleeding during surgery, no need to cut up the quad muscle, less pain and faster recovery. He’s done over 12,000 knee replacement surgeries.

I recommend Dr Lyons at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa Googlr FOI, Dr Lyons and the knee he designed and marketed by Zimmer Biometrics. It is now the #1 used instrument by Dr. worldwide. Getting mine done on Nov 19 in Tampa.PM me if you are more interested. BTW, do not prolong the surgery. Better young than older and why suffer needlessly.

I am scheduled for a knee replacement on the 19th. Am using a Dr Lyons out of the Floridia Orthopedic Instatute inn Tampa. Google all of the info . He uses a knee he designed and is sold by Zimmer Bionics. It is the highest used the world. I use FOI for several issues, they have replaced both hips, and 6 discs in my back, done 2 rota rooter procedures on my back. I googled Dr Lyons and the awards, and accomplishments are unreal like. He is also a assistant professor and FSU school of medicine. BTW if you ever want to know if a Dr is and good, just ask a lawyer for they sue the dr types like Morgan and Morgan or Dan ??

I used Dr. Seibur of Reconstructive Orthopedics of Ocala , he did a great job. He had to remove the bad replacement done by Dr. Oliverre and instead of 2 hours it took him 4 hours. He said my knee was a mess. The job done by Dr. O was glued on instead of using more permanent pins and separated from the bone and I was in pain for 15 months all the while Dr. O said he did not know what was wrong?????

I have had one knee done by Dr. Duke, and the other by Dr. Nguyen. In short, a night and day difference. No complaints at all about Dr. Duke. But he used "conventional" method. Slices thru all muscles and works from the front. Dr. Nguyen (and his trainees) work from the side and under the muscles. Conventional surgery was three months of hell rehab. With side surgery, I was bowling in three weeks. Conventional surgery rehab started with three days of simply laying a handkerchief flat on the floor and trying to put foot on it without moving it. Dr. Nguyen works under all muscles, from side, and only discomfort comes in second week, when pain inhibitors wear off, there is a "pulled muscle" like soreness for a couple days. Conventional method called for three night hospital stay. Side method was an outpatient procedure! Send me a PM and would be glad to discuss further.

If you’re willing to drive to Fort Lauderdale, I had the best guy in the world!! Had replaced Monday and walking with a walker a few hours later. Went home with a walker Tuesday & used Wednesday, switched to a cane Thursday and Friday and then threw the cane away Saturday and went out in the woods and shot sporting clays!!! Drove myself to work the next day, but probably wasn’t supposed to . 😂
Same result with my other knee three years later.
Dr William Burke. He only swaps out hips and knees he does no other surgery at all.

Dr Sergio Martinez.
Could not have gone better.
Full knee replacement, zero pain, zero issues. I do 100 squats a day, even surprised the doctor.
45 years of knee problems…….Gone!

Not that I know of, the knee and leg had to be measured to get the correct size. Send me your email BY PM, and I will send you a photo of the unit. I will also see if I can find the paperwork to see if there is a model number.
