Spouse used Dr. Justin Deen, Gainesville, now in Ocala.

Thanks for Dr Vandeleur, I was getting nervous I wasn’t seeing his name. He is doing my hip. Had a partial on my on left knee about 20 years ago. Now the right hip. Everyone tells me hips are easier.

With side surgery, I was bowling in three weeks. Conventional surgery rehab started with three days of simply laying a handkerchief flat on the floor and trying to put foot on it without moving it. Dr. Nguyen works under all muscles, from side, and only discomfort comes in second week, when pain inhibitors wear off, there is a "pulled muscle" like soreness for a couple days. Conventional method called for three night hospital stay. Side method was an outpatient procedure! Send me a PM and would be glad to discuss further.
Dr. Duke and Dr. Locker from the Ortho Institute Total Knee Replacements are Out-Patient, unless there are other conditions like Diabetis... or something.

This appears to be a Donjoy model DonJoy Armor Knee Brace, I included the link below, as these are sold by size and there is a lot more info there.

Here is a link to a possible supplier:
https://www.rehab-store.com/p-donjoy...0Knee%20Braces

I got mine through the doctor and Medicare, so my cost was around $100 as I had not met the deductible yet.

Always INQUIRE about their post surgury infection ratios! Should be excellent, very, very low incidences.

You'd be Discharged same day from the Ortho Institute Surg Center. No Pain due to a 72 hour pain blocker, then my family reported no pain at all.
Most people have trouble with sleeping at night, getting comfortable. Recliners and TV, unless you want to take the pain pills.
Can elect to have the surgery at Ocala West Hospital and you'll be released the same day too, but it takes a lot longer, due to hospital hoops on discharge procedures.

Excellent anestheologist at the State of the Art Surgery Center, which is located right next to the very large Ortho Institute.

I used to live in Ocala and many Pickleball, Softball, weekend warrior Villagers will tell you that's where they SMH and still go.

Surgery is fast... but you'll be there about 6 hours. He does a fabulous incision... barely be able to see in 6 mos., won't be left with the scissor scar!

Cortesone injections work for awhile, but eventually, it's time.

Good luck.
Do you know if he does a lateral approach, or cuts in the front through the muscles? The doctors at Optimotion use the lateral approach, which is supposedly a much faster recovery. I’m facing a replacement soon after putting it off for 10+ years. Honestly dreading it.

I’m curious. Did Dr O order an MRI for you?

Just X rays so far, and since pain is now zero to 1 i am assuming an MRI is nor warranted.
