During open enrollment we would like to meet with a knowledgeable advisor. We currently have the Villages Health medicare advantage plan. TIA for your recommendations based on your personal experience.

Pass on Advantage, best to get a Plan G, and go outside of The Villages for your doctor.

I think TVH just takes UHC, Humana, and Florida Blue. Which advantage plan do you have?

We travel a lot, also out of the USA. Any Medicaid Advantage plan that cover expenses outside the USA, or, if you are not in your usual residence in the USA?
Thanks |

I agree with meeting with SHINE, they saved us from making a very big mistake.

I have Florida Blue MA, my husband has UHC MA. We both like our plans.
We also have MASA for med evacuations since I travel a lot. And when we are out of the country, we have travel insurance. Last edited by Dotneko; 10-10-2025 at 04:40 PM. |

No version of Medicare covers you outside the USA. That’s why you need travel insurance.

Please note that Medicaid and Medicare are two entirely different things. There is no such thing as a Medicaid Advantage plan. Look it up.

You'd need to check with the Advantage (PPO) plans rather than the (HMO) plans. The HMO plans generally require you to see a limited selection of doctors, specialists, groups, in the general vicinity. Advantage plans aren't really intended for out of state travel as a rule, though some of the PPOs have a much wider network than just "in spitting distance of The Villages, plus Gainesville."

As commented above, there's "Medicare" & there's "Medicaid" ... two separate and distinct programs. Medicare does not provide overseas coverage. Some Advantage Plans & Supplemental Plans, do cover travel ... some, only in emergencies. Medicaid covers IN state medical services and generally only life-threatening emergencies occurring out of state. |

We're on UHC Advantage and like it.
Our agent is very good. Rick Groupil 407-417-0893. His office is right off 44 near Brownwood.
