Well prices are going up. You can read about this on any news search. The big ones that are involved is Humana and United health care. Just when we thought it was safe taxes via obamacare is being past to Medicare Advantage plans and that will go on to us. Do a search and read it for your self most people on this site is negative about posters here so please look it up for yourself. Just want people to keep watch what is getting past down to us and we don't know it. One last thing we will see increases next year unless congress stops it. April 7 is the date .

My Medicare Advantage plan premiums actually went down this year and the coverage got better.
In the coming months and years we will see how beneficial the ACA is.

The proposed cuts were announced two days ago and are on the table for next year.

Details please, plans and costs. My plan was cancelled Jan 1st, and I could not find anything cheaper than I had last year.

It's a regional plan, UCare for Seniors, only available in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Very comparable and excellent coverage that I was used to before retirement and premiums of only $48 per month. Includes prescription coverage and some dental as well.
And, I repeat, we will see the very positive benefits of ACA in the future.

Cuts coming for Medicare Advantage plans?

USA Today article yesterday = very bummer news, expected with the high cost of O'Care. Someone has to pay for it - why not seniors too?

I have Optimum MedAdv plan and very happy with it...

Hi Dean,
We looked at the United Health Care Advantage Plan offered by TV and found it to be less expensive for RX benefits than what we are currently paying now with Bill's state position and my Hospital employment. Medicaid will be much cheaper on the Advantage plan for better benefits.

Now I don't know until we actually USE the providers etc, how "good" the medical care will be. But we were expecting bad news and after Bill had his State benefits officer look at our TV Adv plan she was shocked at how good it is.

Time will tell of course, and change in inevitable....But we feel we are getting a pretty good deal....this year at least!

You can go on the internet and get the phone numbers for all the medical plans in this area. You can also call 1.800.MEDICARE. Call all of them and ask you, to send their literature.

There is United Healthcare, BC/BS aka Florida Blue, Humana. Almost all Medical
Advantage Plans are almost equal, but there are slight differences, that you need to see, what plan would suit you best. They all charged $104.90 for the Part B premium, per month, assuming you not in the higher income bracket.

There are one or two plans that people were able to keep, that are very inexpensive, Less than $104.90. Still, you need to check what plan covers what benefits, that may be more beneficial to you.

For instance, I switched from UHC to BC/BS Florida bue Lifetime HMO and i don't pay a penny for the presriptions i take. I just filled a prscription yesterday that UHC would have required a co-payment of $135. My plan, zero.

Sorry, there is no simple answer for medical coverage. You have to decide what is best for you.

Default PUP medicare advantage plans

I just received an email from The family Physicians Group that I go to. This is what is said.
We regret to inform you that Physicians United Plan (PUP) will be liquidated and out of business at the end of this month. PUP members will be switched to original Medicare on July 1, 2014.
If you are experiencing some resistance from network providers unwilling to accept your current PUP Plan, or if you’re worried about what is going to happen to your Medicare Advantage Plan on July 1st, rest assured, you’re not alone. Family Physicians Group (FPG) is prepared to help all of our patients go through this transition. We will continue to provide for you without interruption, and our customer service department is available to help you with any questions or concerns you may have during this transition.
Obviously, knowing what Medicare Advantage Plans FPG accepts will be crucial in order for us to continue serving you in the future. In addition to original Medicare, FPG accepts the following Medicare Advantage Plans:

WellCare
CarePlus
Freedom
Optimum
United Healthcare

I called PUP and yes it is correct. PUP members will have to get another Medicare Advantage Plan or you will be put back to original medicare. They said PUP members will be getting a notice from Medicare and you need this paper if you want to sign up with another insurance, until you get it you can't sign up with another plan.
