Medicare Enrollment Question
It's that time of year when we can decide if we want a new supplemental insurance to go with our Medicare. Preferred Care Partners is something available to us here in TV. Has anyone had this and if so what is your "take" on it?? There are 2 coverages with it...a "Gold" and a "Silver". I'd be most interested in the "Silver" as it has an "out of network" feature but want to know what this entails. "IF" I'd decide to change I'd have to change ALL of my providers that I'm established with now and not too sure that I'm willing to do that....yet!

Check out their web site and they are offering seminars with in the area and you can find that on their web site. They are one of the ones I am looking at too. Went to one seminar and was impressed with all that you get but am still checking out the doctors that participate with them.

We have AARP "C" Supplemental. Have had good experience with it. Any questions?

What does AARP C include or exclude as far as out-of-pocket expenses? If you don't mind, what is the approximate cost of AARP C per person? I sent for an AARP package but haven't received it yet. Thanks.

We will be paying $325 for the 2 of us next year. We can go to any doctor or hospital. Visits are paid 100%. I've had 2 surgeries in the last couple of years and they were paid for 100%. Had a private room both times, but don't know if that was my insurance or just that they were available.

I got Medicare Supplemental Insurance info from AARP, Anthem Blue Shield and Health Net. They all look like the same coverage and the same price? Went with Anthem Blue Shield because that's what the local insurance broker offered and I figured if I had any issues I could go to the person that sold the policy to me.

Quite Happy with Preferred Care Partners
I signed with Preferred when they first came to The Villages. Have been satisfied with their network and payment schedule. As one woman said, " you're crazy if you think you can get a plan that allows you to drive to your doctor's office in your golf cart." I smiled and said "that's my goal."
Preferred gave me that option.

Preferred Care Partners (Gold)
My husband is looking at Preferred Care Partners. (Gold)
Can anyone suggest a good board certified family practice doctor or internist for a provider. The plan looks good, but we need some input on doctors. Due to my history, I am staying with original Medicare and Medigap.

My husband and I have AARP Supplement for the last three years and are very happy with them. My husband had two surgeries and we paid nothing. I like also that I can go to any doctor and any lab. Never had a problem.

We both have AARP. One for 8 years and one for 9 years.
We have yet to reach in our pocket for anything. My wife has had breast cancer (completely clear for 4 years now), cataract surgery and another major surgery...I have had eye surgery....never even a question.
I am also impressed with their phone customer service. Real people, here in the USA, very knowledgeable and customer need oriented. The biggest issue for me for these 'alternative' care programs is their care provider list does not include our family doctor and and does not have any of our specialists like cardiologist, urologist and oncologist....hence we stay with classic medicare and AARP supplement and Humana part D for Rx. I am gong to one of the Preferred Care seminars to learn more. But if the provider coverage excludes our current list my interest will be minimal. btk |
