My husband was going to have back surgery with dr Bono but Medicare was not approved for his new facility. I was wondering about the, people that had the surgery if they are doing ok. Not hearing about the doctors for a long time. .like why did they move out of the villages area. Are people questioning the surgery.?
I'm scared for my husband to have this surgery when Medicare approves the facility. I know somepeople are having back problems again after the surgery. But they are saying no it is not due to the surgery. Would like other opinions. Thanks |

I just had back surgery done by Dr. Oliver in Ocala. He is with Ocala Neurosurgical Center (352) 622-3360. There are four surgeons in the group. It was actually a wonderful experience for surgery if you can have a wonderful experience having surgery. From start to finish Ocala Neurosurgical Center and Ocala Regional Hospital were professional, friendly, understanding. You may want to get a 2nd opinion from them while you wait for Dr. Bono.

Also Leary of Dr Bono. They were in the Tampa several years ago. Word on "the street" is that their younger patients do well, not so much with older patients. Some feel great for a month or two then things go back to pre surgery level. Unless he can not walk at all without excruciating pain, to me it is much better to try things like Qigong before surgery. Qigong is gentle, slow movements. Many people in group have lessened greatly back pain. Take it slow at first, but regular practice brings a pain free state to your body. There are two classes a week here. Summer is a great time to try them out.

Please beware. My experience was far from positive. It seems they are more interested in paying for their newest technology and facility than patient results. Almost bait and switch and then pressure to write a personal check for thousands the day of surgery. I'm better, but not much, after well over $100k of bills submitted to insurance. I regret choosing them.

Their new surgery facility is due to have a Medicare facility survey in the next couple of weeks.
Approval expected shortly there after. They have far too many positive, expected results and referrals available. My daughter just had hers done by Bono a month ago. Results as advertised with no more pain. I am waiting until they get approval and will be having Bono do a laminectomy. I have been fortunate to not have any major discomfort that cannot be managed. No open back surgery for me!!! Each should do their home work to make an informed decision. As for closing TV office....I think the Medicare issue contributed to that. Their new facility is first class. The doctor is Medicare approved. The facility soon will be. When they were using the hospital in Tampa all was Medicare approved. And based on my home work I will travel to Tampa. I also suggest some folks do a validation before passing comments about the procedure not working on seniors. Everybody is different. I will go with the high percent successes he has than dwell on isolated cases. Bono does more seniors than not! Please do your home work and good luck. |
