We also liked him. But the last 2 times we went to him we waited over an hour past our appointment time. Others I have talked to, have had similar experience. It was not that way when he started here. Just seems to be over booking. Seems to be a good Dr.

Here is another vote for Dr. Del - just moved down to TV (furniture and car still in transit). Had a big health scare (a re-occurrence of a hospital caused infection I had right before I had to move) and Dr. Del saw me right away and figured out what was going on instantly - something far simpler. All fixed. Wow!

I see posts like these and wonder why so many people talk about the inferior medical care in TV. My experiences have been good in almost every instance. Am I missing something?

I am a doctor snob in that I feel so much more comfortable with doctors with some affiliation with a large teaching institution. They aren't allowed on staff at large medical school hospitals unless their credentials are stellar.

Most of the things we see a doctor for can be handled very well with most adequate or above average training and experience. But some medical problems need to be seen by doctors who are trained in unusual and or complex problems. Two of our family members have very unusual congenital medical problems and either they or me are left telling the doctor about certain side effects of certain anesthetics or treatments.. That leaves me/us a bit insecure.

I don't care if he/she has no bedside manner and is not a smiley person. I want him to know the answers to the kinda scary things that could happen to my two very loved people.

That is my answer anyway.

We have also just moved to the Villages and my wife took ill and was referred to Tampa General Hospital. She has recently been released and was told to get a general practitioner in this area. We would be interested in who you finally decided to go with.

Default A good doctor

I recommend Dr Norman Novis. Since we moved here 18 months ago we have (unfortunately) had several major medical issues. The good news is we learned how good a diagnostician our doctor is and how well connected he is to specialists. Best of all he really cares about his patients. He doesn't rush you through appointments and treats you with respect. He just opened his own practice so I know he is taking new patients. It's Patients First Primary Care at 753 Hwy 466 (just west of Rolling Acres) 352.633.7659.
