Default The Villages Hospital

There has been alot of negative reports on here about The Villages Hospital.

Well I have only good things to say about them. My husband met with his doctor this morning (at Creek Side Landing) complaining of pains in his stomach and groin area. Saw the doctor and was told he had a hernia that had to come out today. Doctor told us to go to the ER and she had already contacted the surgeon. We were taken right away. His care and the staff were just wonderful. He was operated later and again everyone, including the doctor were wonderful. Everyone was pleasant and joking with us to make us feel more at ease.

I myself have been to the hospital a few times and could only say wonderful things about them.

That's very good news, and glad you had a positive experience. They knew you were coming, and your surgeon was waiting for you. That's a little different situation than the people who complained. Had you walked in off the street with an undiagnosed problem, I wonder if your experience would have been different.

I also know from experience that if your doctor calls ahead of time you do get right in.You might be lying in a bed in the ER for awhile until a bed becomes available in the hospital but thats ok with me.I have no problems with the hospital its the ER that has issues as far as I`am concerned.

I went into the ER for a problem without a doctor calling ahead. I did have to wait awhile in the waiting room, but once I got in I had very good service and all were helpful and friendly.

I am trying to be very cautious and not cross the line with my statement. Until such time as emergency rooms are no longer doctors office for the un-and under-insured, they will not and cannot be run efficiently. I am very happy you and your husband were treated well. As full timers of that age, this is very important to us.

I've been to the emergency room a few times and have had 4 stays there. Awesome care, everyone so nice. Only one time at the ER I was upset I had to wait so long. Finally got in and was operated on that night.
Other than that, nothing but good to say.
Geez, I even liked the food. LOL

100% in agreement. Thank you for having the courage to state what should be obvious to all of us.

Just got back home after my first visit to ER this morning. Had leg swelling and minor pain. Was taken right in and saw staff and MD very quickly. Received venus ultrasound within 15 min. and no clots found! There was some fluid buildup but nothing serious and was in and out in less than 2 hours. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. Very good experience!

You are right on. Also, what I found out from the hospital is that they HAVE to take anyone, regardless of ability to pay. Urgent Care facilities and doctors do not. I had asked them why more did not use the Urgent Cares. Apparently, this is why so many use the ER as their primary health care provider.

I, too, have nothing but good to say about them....including the ER. They have saved my husband's life on more than one occasion.
