Default Walk in/out bath tub....

Has any one used this type of tub where you walk in sit high in water and walk out. There may be a special name for them, however, I've only seen occasional ads and not the real thing.

Would appreciate any comments on the tub. ....barb

I had a friend that was having one installed but before she used it she passed away. I had a chance to see the tub she never had a chance to use. It really looks very practical. I just think it would take lots of gallons of water to get to the seat hight. Maybe I am wrong.

They have them at Market of Marion, my hubby and I looked at them last weekend.

Default Test it out

A neighbor (I'm up north) had one installed and found it to be a bit confining for her. She said she wished she had sat in it before it was installed. Not sure that all of them are the same size, or for that matter, not all people are the same size.

Default Walk-in tubs

When we purchased our home, the previous owner had installed one. I thought it would be wonderful as we had always had a hot tub previously and used it almost daily. However, with the tub it was a different story. I used it three or four times and decided to purchase a hot tub. It took alot of water to fill it and by the time it was full the water was runni ng only warm. The other problem is that you have to get in, close the door, prior to filling the tub. I would think about it before purchasing one. It might be useful if you need to sit down while taking a shower; however, a stool in your shower would provide the same convenience.

I bought a special char with arms for use in a shower. It is adjustable in height and has holes for drainage. It was a godsend when I was having standing problems. I got it at the medical supply store in Spruce Creek Terrace(?) (across from Wal-Mart on 441). I now use it for a regular chair in my workroom.

Thank you sooo much. I definitely will give that a try; sounds like it will work out fine and I know of that store.

Hey, that give me an idea. Installing a removable hammock in the shower. Hmmm.
