Yes, the root of all evil. Then more money yields power. Then absolute power which corrupts absolutely.

We are moving to the model we probably should have adopted in the first place: isolate the most vulnerable and everyone else practice good hygiene. If you don't feel safe going to a store or restaurant, don't go. But don't demand that millions of people sacrifice all they have to make you feel safe. There's no such thing as safety anyway. You can choose less risk, but guaranteed safety doesn't exist.
The quote and the post are not sympatico.

Just like the millions that get the flu and many thousands of them die......EVERY YEAR.....while life goes on.
The 1918 flu originated in Kansas at some Army base. It was called incorrectly the Spanish Flu to keep from scaring troops going to WW1. H. Hoover kept it a secret. In the close quarters of ships crossing the Atlantic, it spread. 62% of battlefield deaths were from the flu, not the battlefield.

That's why we are "opening up" Anyone who wants to stay home may feel free to do so.
Next fall and winter we have both CV and flu looming.

This has always been about protecting hospitals from being overwhelmed with everyone getting it at the same time because it is so contagious and worse than the flu. It is NOT about keeping everyone from getting it. Is your hospital close to being overwhelmed? Well there is your answer to why we are opening up

Here is another way to look at it. Tens of thousands of people die in car accidents every year. Many times because people are selfish and reckless when they drive. Are you willing to change the speed limit to 10 mph so that people don’t die from the actions of selfish people?

You can’t live in a perfectly safe world. You can make your own self as safe as you can.
I hear that there is a vaccine for the flu?

Probably not true. There are several theories, theories not facts, as to where the Spanish Flu originated, including China. Nobody knows.

Maybe you should pose your question to a few of the 30 million now unemployed. The social and medical consequences that will result will last for years.
