I go to Family Doctors of Belleview too and have been very happy with my treatments and exams. It never crossed my mind about listening to my heart, but then some say I don't have a heart. Back to the point I feel that my needs have been met with Dr Peade, however I do agree that the nurses do have their noses buried in the laptops.

I don't think this is a problem only specific to Florida doctors. I've noticed over the years that the doctors only treat you for the illness or complaint that you have come in for, and no overall exam unless you have scheduled a complete physical. They have their schedules so tight that they don't have time for anything other than your main issue. We are more aware of the fact that we need to be proactive about our health care, and do more of the research about the things that ail us than we ever did before. Doctors simply don't have the time for us anymore.

In five years, we're on our 3rd internist, but we've been with this one for almost two years. So far, so good. At EVERY visit, he listens to heart, lungs, and carotid arteries in the neck. Unfortunately, he also makes you climb on that scale every visit.

I also think he's very thorough. My last blood work showed a slight elevation in the liver enzyme. Within days, he had me scheduled for a liver ultrasound.

I am fortunate to be in good health, so maybe he's just not concerned. But I have never had a doctor ever pass up the chance to take a listen.

Any thoughts???

Are you not paying this guy for your health care? It seems to me you should have on one of those four visits asked why he was not listening to your heart or lungs, or what ever you expected.

Default selecting a Dr.

ALWAYS make sure your Dr. is board certified. Look at the credentials all nicely framed and in plain view. See where they received their training. Ask around if others have been patients of this Dr., but always make sure your Dr. is board certified.
