I've had the exact same message from him on 4 different occasions. Isn't there anything TOTV can do to better police their website?

Yes I was. I received a text and when he said he would send a certified check for more than I was asking, I new it was a scam. I sent him a message and told him "no deal scammer"

Yep a scam. I contacted Sumter County Sherriff and reported email correspondence. It's a scam as far as I can determine. Clue is the certified check is for more then 2x the item is worth new. Any way to report this scum bag to the administrators of the Talk of the Villages web site?

this is a nationwide scam, so the moral of the story, is never accept anything other than CASH!!

We were contacted by an individual who wanted to buy an item. He first insisted on a text message from us, then asked if a certified check was ok, and he would pick up the item later. The area code was 702. We have read other complaints about this person. We didn't text him and we aren't replying to further messages.
