SCAM FOR ONLINE SELLING. If you are selling a large item, especially a bike, beware of receiving a text message from (773) 66-5103. Starts with is your bike still available. Next comes a question about condition, this makes it sound legit. Then offers full price, will send a certified bank check, and will arrange for shipping. Next comes a text, I'll include the shipping costs in check to you, you deduct your amount, and pay shipper. The short story to this - IT IS A SCAM. If the certified bank check is cashed (even asking bank to verify does not help), two weeks later, the bank discovers that the check is a forgery. Oops. You are out the money for the bike, the money for the shipper, and the bike. Google the phone number and you will find what I'm telling you. I did not fall as far as getting the check, I keep demanding cash in the USPS overnight envelope.
