RE: response to a contact from your ad. Not sure why you are asking but, if you want to make your reply public and they replied to your ad in public I would do the same. If they sent you a PM-private message I would reply by PM. If, you are concerned, I would ask for a name and phone number. You can do a reverse look up for free on the internet as be sure they match.
