Garbage truck fires caused by rechargeable battery disposal

An article in yesterday's Tampa Bay Times reported that garbage trucks in Hillsborough County over the last three years have experienced no less than 30 garbage trucks being destroyed or severely damaged by fires largely resulting from improper disposal of rechargeable lithium batteries, including even the small coin size batteries. No rechargeable battery disposed of in the garbage is safe.

It is my understanding that almost all Lowe's and Home Depots, including those in Wildwood will accept rechargeables of small size, but only the stores in Lady Lake will accept the larger batteries for disposal.

    CSX Wildwood Railroad Yard

OK, I'll admit to my weird obsessions. I have been fascinated with trains ever since I was a kid and my dad set up our American Flyer O Guage train layout in the dining room every December. I'm also a fan of processes, organization, and execution to the point that whenever I drive over the railroad bridge on 301, I wonder how CSX manages nine tracks and all the cars sitting on them to make up a train to go north or south.

Has anyone associated with the model railroad clubs in The Villages, or anybody else, been privileged to tour the railroad yard and office to learn how they assemble and manage all of that train traffic that flows through Wildwood?
