I just had the opportunity to sit on a jury in an attempted murder trial. All of the witnesses for both sides were felons with multiple convictions. Yet during the trial evidence showed that they had guns. Since felons are not legally permitted to own guns how would gun control keep people like these from having guns. The answer ... it wouldn't. Criminals find a way to get guns. In the California shooting the perpetrator's guns were setup illegally with 30 round magazines which is against California law. Regarding the Paris attacks: you can't have a gun in Paris yet these people had automatic weapons. Instead of spending money on gun control, how about spending on a system that would centralize information about felons, people with known terrorist ties, people with mental issues, people that have traveled suspect areas or communicated with know terrorists, etc.
