Please look into Central Florida Pet Crematory, www.cflpetcrematory.com, 352-307-2256, located fairly close by in Belleview, FL. They offer pick up service, witness cremations, drop off service, private cremations, etc, etc, etc. They are affiliated with Belleview Veterinary Hospital, which is right next door. We've used them for several pets over the last 20+ years.

Great you are thinking about the future... just in case. A pet sitter should always be provided with your pet's info and any specific issues. I would make sure your veterinarian's contact info is readily available so that they can provide instructions in the event something happens. They are likely to have equipment to handle anything until you return

I used the vet off CR42 and 301 before the railroad tracks cause it close to me. When I lived on acreage I buried them in back yard. I would not do that in my crackerjack lot here in villages and wouldn’t think of putting pet in garbage pick up, but that’s me.

What's the typical cost for a 100 pound dog?

I cannot believe what I am reading in this thread. Put your pet in the freezer?! Put it in the trash and it will be cremated?! Seriously????!!!!! I cannot believe what I’m reading.

When my beloved dog died I had her cremated and made the arrangements through Country Oaks Vet. She was euthanized and it cost me around $100. I did have her cremated and chose to keep her cremains. I would suggest checking around for prices and leave your sitter the instructions. I hope you have the privilege of being with your pet when they cross the rainbow bridge.

We had ours cremated through our vet. They made all the arrangements for us. We’ve used Banfield in the past, but I’m confident the private vet practices can assist you with this ?
