Default Incredible Swan Lake Ballet

When I viewed this, I didn't think some of the moves were humanly possible. Don't think there is any "photo shop" going on either!!!!

So beautiful! I've never seen anything like that. Where was it performed, do you know?

Just beautiful. I'm afraid the female dancer will have trouble with her joints when she's our age, though.

The link was sent to me in an email so I don't know anything else about it. I was just so amazed by the lead dancer that I had to share it. Feel free to pass the link on. I agree with you K-9. Can't imagine what her joints will be like in a few years.

Default Wow

That was beautiful. What incredible athleticism they displayed, particularly when she was en pointe on his shoulders and head. Amazing and breathtaking.

Well, I read that she's only 17 and they've been training her since she was 7 just for this performance. So maybe she will be allowed to do regular ballet and not ruin her joints.

Guess I'm the odd man out. It was beautiful gymnastics but a spotter in a ballet just seems wrong. The male lead in Swan Lake is supposed to dance, not be a lift for the ballerina. Good thing they weren't dancing Giselle (my favorite ballet). Bet I would have had a hissy fit if they'd destroyed it rather than just be mildly irritated.

This was a part of the Chinese State Circus and not a presentation of Swan Lake, the ballet. There have been many other "ballet acts" performed by other Chinese gymnastic groups, and all are lovely to watch if you enjoy gymnastics, as I do. Lots of great gymnasts in the different Chinese groups. One of the most unusual dancers were 2 handicapped dancers, he had one leg and she had one arm and they danced a lovely pas de deux. It is called Hand in Hand on Youtube. Amazing how beautifully the human spirit can express itself regardless of the circumstances.
