Default UPDATED Experimental -what do you think?

I used some filters in Photoshop on this photo taken in Sumter Landing. Looking for feedback. Thanks.

Very nice filters. The colors are amazing.

I like it - the colors really pop, reminds me of a slick magazine cover. It may be my computer monitor, but I might consider toning down the yellows in the trees just a tad.

Is this for online or print? How do the prints look? Online it looks great.

I thought the blues were great but just a little too much "yellow-orange" in the trees and the boat.

When I first looked at it, my reaction was that I did not like it, as it looked "fake" or "manufactured", but I keep coming back and looking as I enjoy your picture taking eye from other posts.

As I look at it more, the colors and textures almost give it a painting feel which I like, but the yellows still feel a bit strong.

I can honestly say, I am not sure about this one, but I always enjoy looking at your pictures. How is that for a waffling assessment .

In the end it comes down to how you feel about it, maybe you can share some insight as to what you were going for after collecting more reaction. If photography were measured like golf, my photography handicap would be a 25, so insights from "single digit photographers" is always interesting.

I really do appreciate the comments...helpful. I guess I suspected the yellows might be as problem, but I wasn't sure. You know how it is when you keep looking at something. I was going for a painterly look, but wanted clear, sharp colors.

I'll try to soften the yellow/green part on the trees. Again, your input was great.
thanks again.
(PS...this is for print...I may do it on a canvas)

I think it needs another string of lights. Otherwise it looks great.

It looks very nice. I would lighten up the stone wall and see if that improves the pciture.

Donna.

I think it is brilliantly beautiful. It is full of lively color and it makes me feel just the way being in The Villages makes me feel.

I want to get to know you and have you teach me some of what you know.

I do paintings from photographs and this one is so perfect.

I could not even come close to the beauty of this picture.

You truly are an artist.

Wow.

As a teenager, my Mom had a job hand coloring photographs in a photography studio. If the edges of your photo were just a little faded, your photo would be very reminiscent of vintage photos of that era. (early 40's)
They were printed on a unique textured stock, but you could reproduce that effect easily with photoshop. Might be kind of fun.
By the way, I really like the photo you use as your avatar. Is it one of your own photographs?

Default UPDATED photo

I took to heart some of the suggestions, and here is the result. I softened the yellow and lightened the brick wall.

The Villages Florida

Thank you all for your comments. Sometimes you need a group eye to see clearly.

Gracie I would love to see your paintings from pictures. Maybe we'll get together sometime and share...

Uptown Girl Yes, the avatar is one of my creations, lol. I did it for halloween. I've been too lazy to change it.

thanks again, everyone. We'll be down for New Years for month of January. I know it's been chilly down there, but believe me, it's worse up here. Happy Holidays.
