Thank you for the photo. It reminded me to remember to slow down and enjoy life.

I keep coming back to this thread because it is such a "feel good" thread and I'm enjoying reading all the comments. Thanks again, Ale, your picture is beginning to speak a thousand words through this forum!

I reminded her that we were reared to remain reticent about such matters and quietly resolve our disputes without involving the rest of the family and so, no marriage isn't easy. Its a constant struggle but made easier because of love, commitment and a sense of fairness. So I found myself apologizing to her.

So congratulations if you made it to 50 + years of marriage you are all happy warriors
Your post is so inspiring - thanks for sharing. My husband has an aunt and uncle, who God willing, if they both make it another couple of months will be celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary! Now there's a milestone many of us will never be fortunate enough to see in our lifetimes, but it is really a blessing to be able to celebrate with the few who do.

The wife and I and our dog will be moving to our house in TV in a couple of years. I hope that will be us for a long time to come after that!

Congratulations to you and your bride, John! That's lovely to hear.

I don't know why, but I generally assume the couples I see holding hands and being affectionate are long-married even though I know better. The three couples I've become close with since moving here are all on their second or more marriages. If the statistics run true, divorce or widowhood is likely to have been in play for half of all couples in TV.

I have always admired Rubicon's commitment to his wife and to family life.
In this changing world we live in, it's nice to hear about people with traditional values.
