I posted a photo album under Quick Links. We spent 11 nights stuck in the Bermuda Triangle on a cruise ship, amid 60' waves, resteraunts out of commission, confined to our suites for two days, and plowed through gale force winds the entire time. I won't be cruising again anytime soon

I opened the thread thinking it would be a nice story and supporting pictures about Bemuda, where my wife and I honeymooned many.. many years ago.

But this.... what a nightmare. I have been trying to convice my wife for years we should try a crusie. She prefers land. If she reads TOTV, I can rule out crusing for a long time and maybe that is a good thing as I would have had a tough trip myself if caught in that.....

I could write a book (no, make that "horror story) of our cruise, but we are just happy to have survived. To make it worse, we were reluctant to go (duh) but were guests of life long friends who were DETERMINED to go, despite the many incentives by the cruise line to cancel.
Anywho, back to the photos. I literally crawled out on my hands and knees to get some of the photos not posted yet, and timed my shutter time to the three left and three right, followed by forward and back lists of the ship. Hubby knows I am nutts, but heck, you only go around once

If a cruise ship was stranded for 11 days in the Bermuda triangle wouldn't it have been on the news, etc.....? My first reaction was WOW, but now I'm starting to wonder why not a word of this incident on the news. What ship and cruise line was it?

Hi Mudder. No, of course we were not stranded in the triangle, just poetic license regarding 11 nights on the Regent's Navigator as we ploughed through gale force winds and 60/70' waves. When we arrived at Hamilton after 6 nights, some folks with good sense and fat wallets, abandoned the ship and flew off. The rest of us sorry lot got back aboard (many of the side trips had been cancelled as Navigator arrived too late) thus we endured further nights and days on even higher waves. It was SO rough, some people in the dining room fell backwards off their chairs when the ship wallowed, and had dinner ware and food land on top of them. Another couple from TV were also on board and I will contact them as we exchanged cards (of misery) They can confirm that we were asked by the captain to remain in our suites as it was too dangerous to venture out. Elevators were closed of course - way too dangerous. Access to decks was similarly denied. Hubby and I were only two of five passengers for breakfast when this picture was taken. Note how we are clutching the table/table wear. Dramamine was available at reception for the many passengers too sick to leave their cabins. Mercifully, me and hubby were fine. It was a trip with stories to dine on for many years. I hope our host is able to get some sort of reimbursement as there were so many disappointments. On the flip side, I have wonderul photographs. Here you go, Mudder. Couple more pix. Regent of the Seas, luxury ship the Navigator was our berth, and while the poor crew did their very best, the weather conditions were too much for anyone to do a good job in. Due to kitchen accidents and the lack of people well enough to actually eat, two of the dining venues were closed. Sadly, me and hubby were unaffected by the rock and roll of the ship, and now sport stupendous weight gains due to self indulgeance (glutony) and lack of exercise.

Ok, thanks for the update, Shrandell, it really does sound like you all endured the cruise from $^#&* ! I can see your white knuckles at the breakfast table. Does make for good conversation at dinner table while sitting solidly on the ground in TV. Have been to Bermuda many times, love that country....however have always gone by plane. Sorry you missed seeing and experiencing the whole island. Ok, that wraps it up for me, I'll stick with planes.
It's good you can sort of laugh about it now!

Are there more photos than these two, if so how do I view them?
