Default Amelia's "Gift" Certificates

I had received two $10.00 gift certiicates for Amelia's at the Waterfont. The purchaser apologized it was not one $20 certificate, but $10 is the only amount she could get online (I believe it was from restaurants.com). It turns out you can only use one certificate per table and can only use it on a minimum $20.00 purchase. (It is very small print on the limitations on a printout which is full of type.)

Sorry, but to me this is a total ripoff. These were not special coupons; these were certificates paid for in full, not some discounted price.

BTW -- The food and service was very good. I had the pork medallions; my friend had the salmon. We both were very happy with the food.

If they are the gift certificates from Restaurant.com---the $10.00 certificate is purchased for $5.00 each. They also have a $25.00 certificate for $17.50. I have gotten the 25.00 one numerous times through my Wyndam Rewards--which is a card that accumulates points through hotel stays, etc. The 25.00 one can only be used if your bill is $35.00 or more and it is only one per table. My problem is that we used ours on Tuesday night date night at least 3X --but the last time we were there and attempted to use it, they had changed their policy and these "certificates" were no longer valid on Date Night--(you get two meals for a set price) The certificate said alcohol was not included in the total you had to spend but we always had wine with dinner and this went towards the $35.00. The food and service have always been good. The only other restaurant in this "area" that utilizes these "certificates" is Urban Flats.

Thumbs up Amelia's

Often I have used coupons from restaurant.com. Like most things, one must read the fine print...However, and most importantly, coupon or not, Amelia's food is really very good. I love the lobster on Saturday night! Very good and very affordable! There's a lovely view of the lake, the cocktails are well poured, and the servers at dinner are just fantastic. Matt is our favorite, he takes excellent care of us. It's not a frou-frou place, but if you are wanting to have a nice dinner, something nicer than the other options we have in LSL, I highly recommend Amelia's at The Waterfront. For the Mr. and I, we have never had a bad experience at Amelia's, and will be there this Saturday for lobster!
