Default Anyone for a Carvel Ice Cream store???

Should someone put another one in?

Different location than the old one?

Would TV support the new store?

Would you buy your fresh ice cream cakes at the Carvel store or just buy them from the supermarket where they are being trucked in from Baltimore?

Any comments welcome.

Personally it would not bother me either way. As a diabetic I don't see any ice cream place catering to our needs. Edy's is good enough for me.

I'd only buy Blue Bell from TX; thank heavens it's here!

You don't seriously think Carvel is some sort of great ice cream do you? I know regional tastes are different but Carvel? Serviceable at best IMHO.

No thanx! Don't care for their ice cream at all! When I want to go out for ice cream I go to Ambrosia in LSL.

Haven't been to Brusters or the other ice cream places in TV, but Kilwin's Rum Raisen ice cream is "the bomb"--- my all time favorite. Hagen Das rum raisen tastes like vanila with a few raisens added compared to Kilwin's.

Do like Kilwin's when in TV. Very heavy milkfat content which IMHO makes or breaks an ice cream.

I don't think Carvel is really even ice cream; it's what's called frozen custard.
What I'd really like to see in TV is good Italian gelato.

Thanks for that tip. I'll try it next time we're there.

Frozen custard! Holy smokes. My memories of childhood. My memories of dating. It doesn't get any better than frozen custard.

Holy cow!

Was told by a fellow coffee slurper at Dunkin Donuts that the old dairy queen building was auctioned off....no information as to who will put a new business in there, but wouldn't it be nice to have Brusters or Ollie's branch out and have another store in the 466 corridor?

I prefer DQ to Carvel. Here at home we have some independents that are good. Ice Cream on9 and Hoffmans.

Carvel is ice cream. By U.S. standards, ice cream contains at least 10% milk fat. Frozen custard contains milk fat plus eggs. In some parts of the country, especially parts of the east, any soft serve is called frozen custard.
Gelato, interestingly, usually is only 7-8% milk fat.
Whether or not you like a particular brand of ice cream is a personal preference, not necessarily an indicator of it's content or method of preparation.
