Default Beef O'Brady - Times must be tough

Ate at Beef O'Brady earlier tonight. Fish Fry $9.00+ and a beer. Asked for a 2nd small thing of Tarter Sauce. Answer, you have to pay extra for it. Never asked how much before I fainted! A new chintzy low in my experiance.

Snowbirds are gone so we have to pick up the slack? That is horrible. Mayo and pickle relish does not cost much/nothing!! Come on!!

Times aren't tough, it is the owner's discression. I would ask to speak to the manager in charge. If it is an absentee owner, then there is not much of a chance of communication.

It's awful, but it's probably because of "chintzy" patrons who are so cheap they would take home the little paper ramekin of it in a ziplock bag in their purse.

Just like the ones that take home all the extra containers of cream for coffee, plus the salt and pepper shakers. Nothing is too low for people this cheap.

There is a sign at the McDonalds drive-thru that states "Extra sauces will be an extra charge".
I just think maybe people will think twice about asking for extra's that are all added cost to the operations. And, I would venture to guess, a lot of the time, the extra's aren't even used.
Just my opinion.

I agree Phanatic..
I worked for several yrs as a server here in The Villages. We were instructed by management to serve 1 sour cream or 1 salad dressing etc any additional would be a 50 cent charge. Many customers ask for extra just in case they might need it and once that item leaves the kitchen & if it is not used it has to be thrown out. Those items day after day customer after customer add up. Most restaurants charge for extra items as such. Same applies for restaurants charging a split plate fee. It isn't necessarily due to tough times it is due to being in business and maintaining cost effective strategies.

Sounds reasonable to me. Years ago, Panera Bread used to have all types of jellies, in little containers, but after watching people stuff their pockets with extra's, they changed their policy. People can be cruel, but I understand those polocies

Just a sign of the times - look what the airlines are doing.

We go to Beef O'Bradys all the time. We always ask for two tarter sauces for the fish and two different types of sauces for the wings and never have had a problem.

Maybe not all of the Beef O'Bradys are not the same.

While I understand that some will over order, I feel that many places are stingy with their sauces - especially dressing for salads. You eat half of the salad and then you are stuck with bare lettuce.

I hate BBQ places that give out their sauces in cups. I like Sonny's because you get bottles. You can have as much sauce as you want. Texas Stockyards and Weston's give you a little cup. Never enough. I never go back.

OMG - How could you miss the point so completely? Where did you get the idea that an extra charge for Tarter Sauce was a "deal breaker"? All I did was make a simple comment that was never intended to say I'm never going there again. Just a little chintzy was the point I was trying to make. I know there are a bunch of locals that would probably never go there again over a tiny issue like this, but you need to know that I don't steal bottles of Mustard at toojays, Sweet and Low at any Restaurants or anything else that I don't pay for anywhere. Please don't condemn me if I use an extra napkin cause I'm a sloppy eater, even though that also might add to the cost of doing business.

Default sauce

I agree with you...........somewhat chintzy!!!
It probably cost them 2 or 3 cents at most for such a small container.
If they would fill the containers full instead of half full, we might not have to ask for more.
