Default Best Coffee in The Villages?

My kitchen has the best coffee - however, after trying coffee at most places in The Villages, my favorite hands down is the coffee at Renee’s Bakery at Brownwood. They also sell imported French roasted beans for those who grind their own beans at home.

Just outside “The Bubble”, Coffee Snob in Leesburg is my go-to.

"Imported French Roast beans" HAH. Michael, all coffee beans are imported, and the fact that they are roasted and then imported means that the beans are already going stale. I would completely agree that the Coffee Snob in Leesburg has some of the best coffee around (they use beans roasted locally). By a wide margin the best coffee in TV is at The Standard. There are two, one near the hospital in Spanish Springs on Bella Cruz and a second near on Brownwood Blvd. Both shops make a delicious pour-over brew - the owner, Matt, knows how to brew a good cup of coffee. In second place would be Foxtail Coffee at BV Blvd and 466, but I've found them to be somewhat inconsistent.

We have choices for coffee, friend bring us Blue Mountain, Kona beans. Stored in vacuum containers. Pour over or French Press, vacuum bodum carafe, and espresso.
We use a roaster, that custom blends when needed.

Rarely do we acquire made coffee, but Standard works. Coffee for us is an enhancement, not a need.

I'm always on the look out for a good pour over! But, as noted above, its seems very hard to find. A couple of years ago I tried the Foxtail Coffee located on 441 in Summerfield and noted that they offered a pour over. Ask the barista for a pour over and she looked perplexed. Said she had to get out "the manual" to see how it was made.... Never went back.

I agree. Here is the breakfast restaurant scam:

1. Don't list coffee or the price on the menu
2. Don't include coffee with any meal, even though most people want coffee with breakfast
3. Advertise the price for a "complete breakfast" but don't mention that it does not include a beverage
4. Place coffee cups on the table before the diners arrive.
5. As soon as the customers sit down, immediately show up with a pitcher in hand and offer to pour them a cup of coffee.
6. Don't ever sell a single cup. Every customer must pay the all-you-can-drink price.
7. Put the pitcher on the table, and allow the customers to share the pitcher, but not the price for the pitcher of coffee.
8. Always charge every customer $4.00 for coffee, even if they only drink one cup.

9. When the price of coffee goes sky high, then comes back down,
keep the high price like it never happen.

I buy Dunkin french vanilla ground coffee on Amazon and put it in a reusable stainless steel k-cup pod. It makes delicious coffee (2 cups per pod) and a pound costs $9.99 and lasts me a little over a month. I find it way better than a $4 cup from a place like Starbucks, which would cost $240 per month for 2 cups per day. Hell, that’s more than my excellent Medicare Supplemental plan costs from Blue Cross Blue Shield per month.

Comparing a decent cup of coffee to a Starbucks brew is like comparing a Lexus to an Edsel or Gremlin.

Actually, I cook my own steaks, USDA Prime filet mignon from Publix. But, for coffee and wine, I really cannot tell the difference between cheap and expensive brands.

A guy that I golf with goes out for breakfast after.
He'll order his coffee in a "go cup", gets the refill before leaving.
His one way to stretch a $4.00 cup of coffee.

Go to a convenience store with a large to go cup of say 30 ounces. For $ 2 at racetrac happily walk off with what I most enjoy. They brew it to order.
