The best pizza in the villages is the one you make at home as no body knows how to make a good pizza here. They don't put much on it and they are usually about 10 inches round or they are flat bread pizzas. Not enough sauce on them either.

I agree!!! I started making my own again since I have more time after retiring. Tastes 100% better and cheaper also!! I made 2 the other day, figured it cost me about 3-4 bucks to make 2 cookie sheet sized ones...mmmm:-)

Sure, for the dough, go to Homemade Pizza Recipe | Simply Recipes But I make my own recipe for sauce from fresh (not canned)Roma tomatoes, chopped and sauted with olive oil, garlic, salt&pepper and fresh basil until soft, approx.15-20min. And I use mozzarella shredded or sliced. I add some of the cheese right on the pizza dough first and then the sauce, and a little more of the cheese on top of the sauce, before baking. I also bake it at 500 degrees on the middle rack, approx.10-13 min. Watch it until the cheese & crust turns golden, b/c every stove is different when it comes to heat temps. Good Luck!! Enjoy!! :-)

My favorite pizza while visiting TV AND when home in Upstate New York is Freschetta, in the grocer's freezer.

Where is Stavaros located, and do they serve a thin or thick crust (or both)?

Starvos is on 441/27 So. in Fruitland Park (also in Leesburg on the same road, but not owned by the same people in Fruitland Park) Their pizza is very good. Thin crust, I don't think they have thick crust.

I feel sorry for those who think Bravo has the best pizza! We've tried it a few times (not by our choice) and we found it terrible! When we had some people over recently they brought Bravo pizza and we threw out the leftovers which is really saying something because I love leftover pizza. We tried NYPD Pizza in front of Walmart on 466 today and it was quite good.
