If you don't over indulge you can easily go have a great meal at Berns for $60.00 PP, $75.00 if you go to the dessert room for Bananna's Foster. That will include a drink each, steak, onion soup, house salad, and potato. Of course they do have some wines around $10,000.00 per bottle. Whatever you spend it is money well spent. Just spectacular food and service. We try to go twice a year. Make a 6:00 reservation, leave TV at 3:30 have a great meal and be home around 10:30.

Kitty - that seems like a long way to go to run around on the Pampas and try to catch a cow on your own.

You can get free range grass fed beef on 475 in Summerfield. It is excellent and a lot closer than South America. You don't have to catch it yourself!

Free range beef IMHO, is a not a quality beef, not enough marveling to make good steaks--ok for burgers, brisket & thin junk steaks

Everyone seems to think Ruth's Chris is the ultimate steakhouse. IMO, not. It's a chain, not much better than Longhorn or Outback but a lot more expensive. I wish I could take you to a real steakhouse in NY

Ruth's Chris
Steaks run between $42 and $55 plus potatoes and sides $9 each.

Would an upscale place like that, independent or chain succeed in the villages?

Now that we have the Sharon and they are advertising heavily on Gold 99 FM [Timeless Favorites] do you think going to The villages for a big night on the town, instead of Orlando or Tampa become "a thing".

[I think it will---maybe I should start a new thread on this subject]

If you buy the whole tenderloin, you can get about 8 filet mignons out of it for about 80-90 bucks. (When they are on sale) I buy them at Fresh Market

The flat iron steak at Longhorn is pretty tasty too but is is way thicker than a normal flat iron steak.

When you go to the Outback, Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse & you wake up with a parched tongue-thank the salt & the msg

In Central NJ (Morris County), there was a steak house called Arthur's & another one called Sammy's Ye Old Cider Mill--Arthur's taste ok, Sammy's was as close to a Peter Luger steak as possible, but about 4AM, you had to drink tons of water after eating an Arthur's steak

All beef can be fairly tasty with the right marinade & aging--but for great steaks-you've got to get 28 day aged prime
