We went to Billy's for the first time about a month ago...thought the breakfast was tasty with that downhome diner feel to it and very reasonably priced. Mr 07 did order an egg beater omelette and there was no issue in satisfying this request. Don't know when Tex went there but our recent experience was different than his/hers. FWIW, we liked the home fries...strictly a personal taste thang.

You sure you didn't give them a little Texas attitude ...

I used to like it, always was good. But the last couple times I went it was mediocre at best. Doubt I will go back.

It was over a year ago that this happened. I meant it when I said I wouldn't go back. Can't imagine any meal would be worth the attitude and NO I didn't give them a Texas attitude, which is what by the way, Memason?

It was a joke! But, if you don't know what a Texas attitude is, how do you know you didn't give them one...

They are the second best breakfast place in this area. Their specialty is pancakes and waffles, but I never had a bad breakfast there.

The best is Aunt Fannie's in Belleview, they are also in Ocala, but we go to the one in Belleview. Their biscuits are to die for (enormous). Their sausage in also unbeatable.

Why would you post a negative experience that was over a year ago? Do you think they might have new cook in a year?

This was your quote on 10/19/11 about another restaurant -" Please give them another try. We need to keep the small resturants in The Villages so we don't end up with only fast-food chains. "

Did they change owners, like Gandolfos?

Default Billy's

I just love their waffles, and the toppings are fresh, and their prices are reasonable. Like someone said, to each their own..................

That's how I like them!! I hate potatoes that are floating in grease.

Have been going to Billy's since the day they opened. The only problem started about a year ago when they started using something other than real cooked on the spot bacon which is just awful. Aside from the Bacon, which I no longer order there, if you don't like Billy's you probably shouldn't go out for breakfast.

We have been going there since Billy's opened, also. When the Asian fellow is on the grill the home fries are excellent. He is usually the cook on the days we go there so we have never had anything that wasn't terrific. It seems that everyone has his or her own idea as to what constitutes "good" home fries. I am not a home fry fanatic but I can't help sneaking some from my husband's plate. Oh, yum! They are browned very well and have just enough onion in them to make them very flavorful. I have to say that Perkins has the best pancakes around.
