Default Brusters ice crean

Went there Friday night and was sorry to see Brusters on 42 closed. Always people in line and a good product. Wonder who got the left over ice cream?

The owners are TOTV members. Not sure what happened.

So sorry to hear that JohnZ and Patty had to close Brusters. They are such a lovely couple and were so much fun in the early days of TOTV. I do hope they keep in touch with us. John came into chat one night a while ago, and it was the same old fun as it used to be.

Good luck to you guys, I hope your next venture will be a great success, you earned it.

Ice Cream sales has a very slim profit margin, so a store must sell lots of it to be profitable. The only way that can happen is if the store is located in a "VERY HIGH" foot traffic area.

It is my understanding that at the time Bruster's was considering the location on route 42, they were given to believe that all those out parcels would be occupied by other businesses, including restaurants. As you can see six years later, there is a gas station and Bruster's. Not a winning formula.

Here's hoping the opening of the VA Clinic in August will help them out. Nice people and great ice cream!!!

I guess we need a definition of what "closed" means!

Folks, we closed Bruster's temporarily for the winter months. It is our slowest time of year and given the economic climate we decided it was best to close for a couple of months. It was a tough decision. We plan to reopen March 1st and resume serving the best ice cream in The Villages.

That's the best news John.... so happy you will reopen. As soon as I'm off my diet, I'll be there to see you!!!

I do not get up around CR42 that often but often have got Brusters when I am up that way. Some of more discerning guests really enjoy Brusters.

No need to get off your diet Kathy - just get one of the FFNSA ( Fat Free No sugar added) flavors we have daily - less than 120 calories for most single servings and no sugar.....the taste is without an aftertaste as well - not like what I was used to prior to Bruster's

I don't know where it is - but I will find it! I know where the VA hosp is being built!

Maybe JohnZ and Patty can organize an evening ice cream social for TOTVers!
