I'd be interested in knowing what you liked about it. My husband loves Cuban sandwiches but finds most around here are not cooked properly, as in they're not hot all the way through.

I stopped in there after they opened and wasn't too impressed, but I would try to find something there to like if he could have a great Cuban sandwich.

Glad to hear it 'cause it had mixed reviews when it first opened. Always welcome to another option around TV to get bite to eat.

It is good to hear a positive review on Burke's. I haven't been there yet. Give them time to get their act together, and it sounds like it has. I love and support Mom and Pop establishments and I guess it is now time to go and try them myself. Thanks.

We were there about three weeks ago and liked the food very much. We avoided it when they first opened for a couple of reasons. We wanted them to get the kinks worked out and we wanted to give the crowds time to die down. BBQ isn't something that can be rushed. They were so crowded at the beginning I didn't think there was any way they could keep up with the crowds.

This just goes to prove my theory, that you should read restaurant reviews but always go and decide for yourself. I had read some negative reviews about Burkes BBQ so I didn't eat there. But we went for the first time on Tuesday and enjoyed the food and the staff. Their sweet potato casserole was delicious. I still love Oakwood, but there was nothing wrong with Burkes, and sitting outside while a soft rain was falling was very nice.

stopped there last Tuesday for a quick lunch. Had the 1/2 chicken special, baked beans and fried apples, sweet tea. Ten bucks and everything was very good. The chicken is cooked completely in the smoker, nice smoked flavor right into the meat not just the skin.
The apples are great!

Went to Burke's last week to see what it was all about. I was looking for BBQ ribs, but when I got there trying to decide the fellow behind the counter asked if I liked turkey. He gave me a piece and it was great. Ordered the dinner. Beans were very good. Overall very enjoyable. Will definitely go back.
