Default Brazilian Steak House

My wife and I recently took a cruise on the Norwegian Epic. One of the restaurants on the ship was a brazilian steak house. For those of you that have never been to one, they barbecue the finest cuts of meat and bring them to your table on skewers where they cut them right onto your plate until you signal them to stop. It is delicious. I understand that there is a Brazilian Steak house in Ocala and I was wondering if anyone had been there and if they enjoyed it. I guess what I am really asking is if the restaurant on the ship was the exception or if they all are that good.

I've been to one in Albuquerque but I think it had a different name. Would like to now if there is one in Ocala.

We drove with friends to Ocala where there is one. It was a VERY enjoyable meal. I had never gone to one before and never heard of them. The sides were wonderful too. Not cheap.

Here's the closest one:

http://www.ipanemaocala.com/

But, somewhere in the dim recesses of my memory, I thought someone recently said it was closed. SamHass, was that you?

The website implies it's still open.

Impanema was partially owned by the guys who ran that investment firm in Ocala and they went to jail, but no the resturant is still open. In fact, our office Christmas party is there this Thursday. Now if they can stay open - seems they owe $19,000 in back payroll taxes. Very good resturant though if you're a carnivore. Which I most assuredly am.

There is a Texas de Brazil in Orlando. It is great and while I know that it is a Steak/meat place they have an outstanding salad buffet.

The food is good but if you look at spending $100.00 for two I would rather go to a Great food place for the same amount

The place in Albuquerque was called Tucanus and it was outstanding. Huge salad and sides bar. Great meat and fish. Ipanema in Ocala is much smaller for about the same price.

Well TDB in Memphis is still going strong!
When our kids come and visit we always go there .
Also not bad getting a free dinner for anniversary, and our birthdays.
This is the kind of upscale restaurant that can maybe make it in TV....

Sounds delicious. Will have to try the place in Ocala some time. However, I just have to ask... how do they store a brazilian steaks without a super huge refridgerated warehouse?

I don't think the meat is really from Brazil, inasmuch as it is a 'style' of cooking!

Ipanima is good; about $100/couple after drinks tip etc; for lighter eaters, you can get just the salad bar which is EXCELLENT and it will fill you up for half the cost of the whole beer & salad dinner.

Wow! I couldn't get past this post...What is it about investment guys? Why do so many end up in jail? It was my understanding these guys are all well vetted before getting a license?

Anyway have been to Impanema three times and for once will give a positive review because it is one of the best places to eat, that I found, in this area. I could care less about the price because the menu is sooooo good beef, pork lamb, chicken, pineapple... creative salad bar....Yes I am a meatatarian but do subscribe to the Greeks "admonition" of "all things in moderation". And boy do i like a lot of moderation
