Maybe some Villagers were watching the game at a local bar that was actually IN The Villages. Hats off to Millers Ale House though, they do a nice job with everything.

Even after moving back to Tropicana Field for 2026 the Rays managed precisely TWO sellouts so far: they sold out the home opener with 25,114 tickets sold, and then sold out the first game of the playoff series against the Yankees. A miserable record in a possibly-championship season, made even more miserable by the fact that Tropicana Field is the SMALLEST venue in major league baseball with a regular-season capacity of 25,114, and even at that small capacity the Rays managed an average per-game attendance of only 17,469 fans per game.

Yahoo (among others) had an article on Rays' attendance, citing it as "embarrassing". That, unfortunately, it is.
Expect to see a lot of Brewers fans at the Tampa games. Just like there were at the Dodgers games.

Milwaukee's stadium has a capacity around 45,000, and they sold out all their playoff games. In fact, they opened the stadium for the final Los Angeles game and showed the game on the jumbotron. Attendance was 20,000.

Brewers are charging $3500+ for a ticket to the World Series. Tampa is charging under $1000. I saw a posting comparing the prices, adding in airfare and hotel, and the Tampa ticket was still cheaper than a Milwaukee ticket.

I would rather watch from home, only go to restaurants to eat, not to watch sports.

I wouldn't be surprised. Milwaukee fans support their teams.

I attended a Brewer's game against the MN Twins in Milwaukee a few years back. Day game. Late summer, and neither team was doing that much standings-wise. The place was packed! The tailgaters were out in force and the smell of cooking brats along with beer and good-natured ribbing abounded. It was a late-season game between two teams who had no reasonable chance at the playoffs that year, but the attendance and fan involvement was like something you'd expect in a playoff game or World Series.

Contrast that to a Rays home game I attended in 2023. Mid-September, against Seattle. The Rays were in a tough pennant race that year. Attendance was something like 12,000 total, and I've seen more excitement at a curling game! We had good seats: 1st base side just beyond the base maybe 5 rows up, and there were more empty seats around us than people. I couldn't fathom that. Getting in to watch a Twins game back in Minnesota, particularly in a tight pennant race in September, was usually a roll of the dice.

It's not like Miller's Ale House is convenient to anybody who lives south of 466A. There a lots of places closer. And then there's the pesky fact that baseball is boring.

So I, and the other three, would get 12 and 3/4 TVs all to ourselves? Sweet!

The game was broadcast on TBS, a channel that many do not get on their home roof antenna. There were only 4 customers watching the game! Sad.
Only sad if one is FL born or switched allegiance once they moved to Tampa, and live 5 minutes away.

Big “D” fan, Care less if Tampa is playing.

Why drive out of the bubble to Millers when there are multiple places close to thousands of fans inside the bubble. Or better yet the multiple home/driveway/block parties the southern areas gather together.

Beer menu with 31+ taps offering more than Jai Alai and Yeungling. Food menu. Prices?
