Default TV Restaurants?

When you say restaurants in the villages do you mean only country clubs or the chains also? Cane, Lopez and Palmer are excellent and the other country clubs are marginal in my opinion. The chains always seem fine if you accept you know what they offer, such as Sonny's, Red Sauce, O'Bradys, etc. and all the others in the areas like Colony Cottage and Southern Trace. We are lucky to have so many choices in golf cart range here in The Villages.

As with everything, you get exactly what you pay for! My husband likes the $8.95 scallop salad at Lighthouse. I turned down the all you can eat crab legs for $21.95. I told him I'd cook some at home. Crab legs were on sale at Sweetbay for $6.99 per pound so yesterday I bought about as many crab legs as I thought I wanted at Sweetbay ($19.79)and 8 scallops ($10.00) for him. Then I had to cook it! We'd been just as well off at the Lighthouse and we would have enjoyed the ambiance of eating on the water!

We went to Lopez tonight and had a great dinner as well as a great price. Recommend this country club for a great meal.

We enjoyed dinner at "Lopez" early evening and it was wonderful!
Next on the list to try will be "Cane Garden" with hopes it will not disappoint. The good thing about trying out all the new places to eat is having good company, that makes the journey much nicer no matter how good or bad the food may be....
Will have to give Bonifay a chance on their Burgers! Its far too early to give up on any one place just yet...Thats the optimistic way to look at eating out

It is too bad that the food at Bonifay is so "iffy". It can be good one day and then just plain lousy food another day.

The flies continue to be a BIG problem if you sit outside at the bar or the outside dining areas. They cannot seem to do anything about the swarms of house flies. It is just disgusting to have flies land on your food or on the rims of your glass.

The interior of the bar area is really wonderful with the views of the golf course and having the beautiful blue wave looking bar. The beach design of the dining room is great, too.

Management should concentrate on getting their food to be consistently good. Maybe a change in the menu to a smaller selection so they can concentrate on quality.

The flies can be treated by regular (weekly) use of a professional pest company. That has to be accomplished SOON!

We ate there this weekend. We were seated by the kitchen, for which I'm mentioning on purpose, which wasn't a distraction at all to our party. Our server was great, in answering our questions, serving us and not being intrusive by doing it. Our food was excellant and the presentation got a "10" from everyone!! We've been there a handful of other times and always had a more than good experience. We will be back for sure!!!

My son absolutely loves Bonifay meatloaf.....my husband loves their burgers....I had the Thai Chicken Wrap....delicious. We thought the hostess and servers weren't very friendly the first couple times we went, but either they know us now or they have loosened up....anyway it's better now. and they know not to sit us by the kitchen unless all the other tables are full!
