Question Dress Codes?

Hello all. My husband and I are coming for a 2nd visit starting this weekend. I’m already starting to pack; I’m so excited. Are there any restaurants or other establishments that do not allow shorts or jeans?

As far as I know, the only restaurant in or near The Villages that has a dress code is the Rose Plantation.

Casual, Casual, Casual.

If it's nice looking, no holes, pants/shorts above your hubby's butt................you're good.

Be comfortable.

Correct, Rose Plantation requires slacks and collered shirt for the dining room.

A few other high end restaurants in Tampa/Orlando also.

For "other establishments", the golf courses do not allow jeans. Also men's shirts have to have collars--no tees, sweatshirts, etc.

This is a link to the dress code for the golf courses at The Villages. As you can see, it is pretty open. No bathing suits, must wear shoes, but otherwise...

Golf The Villages

The link doesn't appear to work. It is to golfthevillages. com / golf-in-the-villages / howtodress.asp (remove the 5 spaces I put in inorder to show you the link)

Yes, but don't even THINK about playing golf, even on a pitch & putt, without a collard shirt.

Golf courses, yes, but country club bars and restaurants, no. They want your money.

You forgot the long black or white socks.

I was pleasantly surprised on my first time in TV on a lifestyle visit that even in the nicer restaurants most guys are wearing shorts and a tshirt or golf shirt. Some women seem to outpace the men quite a bit with dressing up but it's nice that no one seems forced to dress up.

You'll find men wearing ball caps indoors even in the golf club restaurants.

Made it to the site and found the following. (Noted that denim pants are allowed - do those somehow differ from jeans?). Fun to have learnt new ways of spelling collared shirts in this thread. :-) Fascinating to learn that there's a category known as "fashion golf top". :-)

How To Dress
The following dress code is for all championship and executive golf courses, The Villages Golf Academy, driving ranges, warm-up nets and putting greens.
The acceptable golf attire includes, but is not limited to, the below:

Shoes must be worn at all times when on the golf courses. Tennis or golf shoes with soft spikes, or shoes with no more than a 1-inch heel, are mandatory.
Shorts or skirts must cover the majority of the thigh and may not be cut-off or have holes.
Denim pants are allowed.
No overall, tennis skirts, cut-offs, biking shorts, bathing suits or athletic exercise apparel.
Dress Code for Women
Fashion golf tops may be without a collar but should not expose the stomach and must have straps at least 2-inches wide.

Dress Code for Men
Shirts shall have a collar and sleeves. Turtle-necks or mock turtle-necks are acceptable. (Min. 1 1/4 inch collars.)
