I agree, the food is very good and service can be good if properly staffed. We have experienced good and bad. I must agree with the comments about cocktail prices; way too high for what you get (weak call brand drinks)! If drink prices become more reasonable, would certainly go more often but I guess as long as they have clientele willing to pay the prices, we will have to go elsewhere.

Went there last night from south of 466A, only took about 20 minutes. Great food, wonderful staff. There was a 40 minute wait in the dining room at 6:30 but we sat at a four top in the bar immediately. Drinks were great, you get what you pay for (good booze is smooth). We will definitely be going back, the view is good even in the dark. In summer this place will be a madhouse.

Best Bloody Mary I have ever had!!! Not the cheapest food or drinks, but I prefer to pay a little more to sit in a $5 million lake view property vs. sitting in a strip mall. I recently found out that this is a building that has been around since 1924 and many of the locals have visited here since they were children. It just recently went through a MAJOR renovation/rebuild. If you look around at the pictures they are donated pieces from people going to Eaton's Beach back in the 1930s. Expect a long wait and not the quickest service. The parking is limited but I saw a shuttle driving people to their cars. But its worth it to see that view. And if its too crowded you can always head around to the other side of Lake Weir and visit Gator Joes.

Went for lunch last week. Great food, waitress, view.
Not a long wait and the place was full.
Here is an article in the Ocala Star Banner, 1996 with the early history of Eaton's Beach.

Default Eaton's Beach

Well, my husband & I went for lunch about a week ago. We each ordered a drink...me a vodka tonic and hubby ordered a screwdriver. OK, so we ordered lunch and it was ok. Nothing to brag about. So we ordered one more drink each...and then the bill comes. Hubby says to me..."did you order Absolute for us?" I told him no...maybe it was a mistake. We expected just well liquor or bar liquor at lunch, especially since we were not specific. So I asked our waitress about our bill showing 4 Absolute drinks....and she said ...."we automatically just hit the top one on the computer if you don't ask for something special".... She went on to say Absolute is first, then Belvedere, and so on, and "well' liquor is at the bottom. So we paid $7 for each drink and by the way, they were really small. She never offered to make an adjustment, or anything for that matter. Sooo, they got us once.

Once I started reading the reviews here, I knew my hubby and I would be making a stop. OH MY GOSH!!!!! We arrived and were quickly seated and by 5:30 they were filled up and a waiting line. We ordered one order Fried Green Tomatoes, two Spanish Catfish dinners, two sodas and one slice of the Orange Sunset cake. We do not usually eat all that much, but we were celebrating. CATFISH was the BEST we have tasted in a long, long time. Bill came to $45 without t&t, but SO WORTH it. We will be going back for those special occasions or every once in a while.
