Default GREAT Steakhouse in Tampa

This past weekend, we visited friends living in the Tampa area. Saturday evening the 4 of us went to Bern's Steakhouse. It is hard to describe how good my meal was. I have had the pleasure of dining at some of the best steak houses all over the country (ie: Bob's in Plano, Tx., 3 Forks in Dallas, Tx. Mortons, Ruth's Crisp etc) but Bern's was by far the best. Also, they have the most extensive wine list I have ever seen in a restaurant. The cost of the meal was at the very high end but the quality of food and service was unparalleled. I recommend it highly to anyone looking for an exceptional steak and a good bottle of wine and great atmosphere. Well worth the trip from most anywhere.

Default Dessert Room at Bern's

Bern's steak is great but if you love dessert and want to skip the main course, go upstairs to the dessert room. You sit in booths with music or TV you can program. The dessert menu is about six inches thick, including after dinner drinks, etc. Since Bern's dinner guests get priority to go to the dessert room, it is best to go on a weekday night. It is an experience.

Also, when you eat dinner, you can pick your fish out of the kitchen fish tank if you request. Also, you can tour the wine cellar downstairs if you ask - over 10,000 bottles of wine.

We were all full after the meal so dessert was out of the question but sounds like I'll save room on our next visit and enjoy the Dessert Room experience.

I think Berns is i the top ten of all steak houses in the country. Great food and service both times we have been.
