Formerly Chi's Grill. Next to the Hallmark Store.

Great food. Most items are made from scratch. I had the best Maryland crabcakes since leaving Delaware two years ago. The chicken parm was huge and delicious.

The staff (owners) are very friendly. Service is great. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served.

In any case we sat down and before long a couple of single guests sat at our table. I felt that I was on a cruise with a table with 4 strangers. In any case they were nice people. My wife ordered a 222 which was 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 pancakes. She said the pancakes were delicious as did a women at our table who also ordered the pancakes. I ordered a swiss cheese omelet with sausage and hashbrowns. My order came out with american or cheddar cheese with home fries. The waitress said that they ran out of hashbrowns. It took about 45 minutes to get our order, entirely too long. I think the cook just works on one tables order at a time but it was an inordinately long wait. The owners filled our coffee cups frequently. No problem there. When I went to pay the bill I mentioned that I didn't get the cheese I ordered. She looked at the check and sure enough, swiss cheese was on it. She called the cook from the kitchen and told him about the cheese mixup. I didn't mention to her about the inordinate amount of time to get our order. However, they seemed to be frantic and disorganized and I'm sure they are aware of this.

I'm sure they are trying but need to get their act in order. Because of the above I will probably not be going there for breakfast again or at least until the snowbirds leave which may give them a chance to improve service.

Just wanted to give you my experience with this restaurant. The owners seem very nice but seemed disorganized.

John
Influenced by some positive posts about Jan and Terry's I tried it myself for Breakfast earlier today. I agree that the operation is extremely disorganized. I essentially agree with your comments regarding seating arrangements that seem to encourage strangers to sit down next to you. My breakfast was not served in a timely manner. When my Fried Eggs and Home Fries arrived they were actually cold. I found the place to be dirty. Paper menus on the tables were covered with stains left by previous diners food and beverages. An open Catsup bottle on my table had Catsup all around the cap that appeared to have been there for a long time. In the Restroom I found broken Toilet Tissue and Hand Towel dispensers as well as a floor that my shoes stuck to with each step I took.

I will not return even after the seasonal residents depart.

Default Jan and Terrys diner

Had lunch there and have to agree with food critic, I did enjoy my bacon egg and cheese on a roll but the tables were dirty everything was so rushed and when you walk in there is no where to stand to wait for a table. I think they need a bigger place and need to be organized. They were bringing the wrong orders to tables. I really hope they get it together because the food is good.

I agree with the other people who have given negative reviews. We were looking for a restaurant with a diner atmosphere but this doesn't have that and the food just doesn't live up to it. I was disappointed and also felt that it wasn't clean. There are many nicer places to eat.

Too much good competition like "TooJays" will put this place out of business if it doesn't shape up!

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but Urban Curry closed? Not great food, but at least it offered some diversity. Does anyone know any good Indian restaurants close to TV?

Default Jan and Terry's

My grilled Reuben tasted like it had been grilled on an uncleaned grill It had that "old grease" taste. However, the corned beef was very good. I told the owner about the taste and she apologized and said it was probably from breakfast . I'll give it another try.

VERY sorry to hear Chi's closed and that the owners were getting divorced! They are such nice people and boy could he cook, everything always fresh made and HOT! Just my opinion but I think people shod give the new place time to get it together before being so judgmental. Will have to give it a try. any places close because of negative reviews by first impressions. Give the a break. They probably should have taken time to get organized before opening but when you're putting out a lot of money you of course want to get revenue coming in asap. Lets give the little businesses a break and hope they shape up. Just my humble opinion and totally understand people having issues with service an cleanliness.

Hi Barefoot, I take the ride up to Ocala and eat at Amrit Palace. They do a very nice job.

Barry, thanks for the Indian food recommendation. My favorite food.

I apologize to readers for the topic high-jack. It's just that I was surprised at the comment that Urban Curry closed.

Here's a link to the layout of the stores in that plaza.

Went there for lunch and was not impressed. They were out of the soup on the board, so I had the meatball soup. It was very salty. They were also in need of more help. With some improvements, I hope they make it. The girls do work hard. I wish them success.

The thing about cheesesteaks is always the bread. I didn't think Chis was better or worse than Jersey Mikes.

I would like to hear more about the Amrit Palace.

Urban Curry ? I am not surprised at all that did not last. having lived in England for many years, any person who lives (lived) in England will tell you most Indian Restaurants in England are excellent.

Urban Curry was really terrible I tried on two occasions to give them some customer advice all to no avail.

1) Why did they fail ?

a) Location, b) Décor, c) Prices, and the quality of food was terrible especially compared to what you typically get in England. Totally, Totally Clueless.

There is an excellent Indian Restaurant in Ocala on State Rd 200, but go to Orlando for really excellent Indian food.

As a foot note Indian Food is one of the " Top " most popular foods in England and is very healthy.

Went to Jan &Terry's the other day... omg.. Not good, I hope the owner does a serious revamping of how to run the diner or else (sorry to say) it'll go out of business if something isn't done. jmho..this is not a "home cooking" type of diner. They need more servers and especially people keeping the restuarant clean and organized.
