Two weeks ago dozens of people were ready to "string up" Johnny Rockets. Now, they're getting a burst of support.

Kathie..if you and Donna open a Panera's count me in as a server!! I have to agree with Kathie - Love the 50's look of Johnny Rockets but it doesn't have that clean feeling. Colony could certainly use Panera's (too far to go to SS now), and Dunkin' Donuts would be perfect!! I'm in NY now and can't help myself from having their coffee almost every day.....ummmm, I think I'm getting in the car now for some!!

Chuck,
I think what days2go meant was that any business coming into TV does so on TV's terms. The rents they charge are extremely high, but when they also want a percentage of your gross, it makes it difficult to sustain almost any business here. That's why most are looking at the perimeters.

Thanks Shazam for being so nice and diplomatic, but I don't think that's what days2go meant. I think Chuck is more right, days is a "flame"!!!!

I can tell you from personal experience, that Starbucks does have a lot of pull in what stores they will allow around them. In LA, they had a coffee kiosk change to ice cream because it was within walking distance of their store. Can you imagine their gall? Whatever way, we need another coffee place in Colony.
No coffee shop yet...Just got this off of the "Restaurants of the Villages" site:

"Sakura Japanese Steakhouse, 297 Colony Blvd., The Villages, FL. Once occupied by Juan Mexicali and M. J.'s Bagel Buzz, this location will soon become a Japanese Steak and Sushi restaurant. Opening date not yet available".

Hopefully they can be more successful than Juan and M.J.

I thought they were going to be in a smaller location - like next to the used book store. Glad to see they are going to have some room - and hopefully make it into a nice sit down establishment.

Drove by today - the location (297 with sign announcing Sakura) is in the same little strip as the Used Book Store. The old Bagel Buzz location has TV available sign in the window.

Paneras and Johnny Rockets are two different types of restaurants,if you want burgers you go to Johnny Rockets,if you want coffe pastries, sandwiches, soup go to Paneras. It is clean ,excellent service, outside tables, nice people .If you have never been there,I say give it a try.Johnny Rockets was a grest place when it first opened, but since then management changed, cooks changed (for the worst) place is dirty. In my opinion Paneras would be a great restaurant there. I know Johnny Rockets time there is almost over.

The LSL location is perfect for a Johnny Rockets, I can't believe the corporate HQ of JR is letting this store fail due to poor management.

I have been to J R's twice. First time we ordered out food, we were at an outside table. We waited and waited, after 20 minutes husband asked where our order was? They had forgotten about us and were now closing. No apology.
Second time husband and friend wanted a burger, I ordered fries because I thought the burgers and sandwiches looked awful!! The waiting staff were not very good I'm sorry to say.
I would not miss it!!
