Last year there were 7500 people registered for this race. This year, it is totally full already even though the race isn't for 2 more weeks. The organizers are a bunch of NC State alumni who started this race with 10 people in 2004. Last year, they raised 100 thousand dollars for NC Children's Hospital. Here is a link to a story from last year's race

You'd be surprised how easily those soft, hot-out-the-oven glazed donuts go down. All the fat, none of the substance. "Tastes great, less filling!"

It's not the 2 1/2 mile run back that would kill me but a dozen KK's!!!!!!!

It's good to be young and be able to do this type of event and not have any adverse health issues.

All in all, a worthy charity event. best wishes for al participants.

Back to the topic of KK's in TV. Would a KK donut be your first choice and how far would you travel to get some?

What is the realistic chance they will come to TV?

We can get them in our local supermarket. They are made close by and are delivered fresh twice a da. But at $3 a pop, no thanks! I will wait until I come back to Florida in June!

Very small. Several years ago they went on a major expansion from their base, went public etc. I even saw them in Hawaii. However, the rapid expansion ultimately killed them. Profits went down and many franchisees closed down. They really pulled back their operations for stores and are concentrating on looking for franchisees in major metropolitan areas at this time. It is very expensive to open a franchise compared to Dunkin Donuts and would require a large population to make it profitable.
